REALLY good food! Am never disappointed in how the food tastes and it?s quality. However, it did not get 5 stars because of the... incorrect prices on their website. And they?re not just a few cents more, it?s about $2-$4 more in my experience per item. I just moved to Reading and have heard how great Van's Cafe is. Unfortunately, I can't agree with all the great reviews. This... has been the most bland and flavorless Pho and dumplings I've ever had. The broth was extremely light in color, I've actuallynever seen Pho broth this light; it almost looked like the color of chicken broth. Also, the shrimp and pork dumplings had zeroflavor to them. The sauce paired with the dumplings couldn't even make it better. I did not enjoy this meal at all, it was sounderwhelming and disappointing. I just got my bowl of pho, only took 2 bites before a big spider fell from the ceiling into my bowl. I couldnt eat it and they... still charged me full price $19.50 for bowl of pho and pepsi. Being vietnamese myself, way overpriced and wasn?t even thatgood. Read more
We've been here 10+ times and the food quality and service is great every time! The pho is amazing, we usually get shrimp and... veggie/tofu and we always get an order or 2 of the crispy vietnamese rolls. Consistant great quality all the time. Tried thedrunken noodles and the banh mi once and both were very good but we always go back to the pho. They also have bubble tea which Ibelieve is made from the powder but it tastes great. I definitely recommend the mango. We've gotten other flavors and they weregood too but I don't remember which ones. We always do take out but they do have tables for dining in and they always have opentables. Read more
Bubble tea was made with powder, which is normally okay but they used way too much so it was crazy sweet and still had a bunch... of powder at the bottom. It seems to be a common topic in reviews but I thought I'd give it a shot. The pho was okay, packagednicely for takeout.
