The main courses were mediocre and disappointing. Nothing stood out food wise and the only good dish was the crab cake... appetizer. The shrimp scampi was tough and tasteless and the calamari was soggy with part of the breading sliding off. Cominghere for dinner was a waste of money and time. I loved the vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant more than the food or theservice. Read more
One of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Red Bank has many great restaurants, but if you’re looking for a nice place to take... out your family or have a nice date, I’d recommend coming here. There were a lot of people there so I’d highly recommendmaking a reservation a few days in advance, especially on the weekends. The service was very great and highly knowledgeableabout the food. Our server explained the specials with great detail and pointed us in the right direction. We ended up gettingone of the specials, the Wagyu NY Strip Steak with bone marrow mushroom sauce. It was amazing and melted in your mouth. Thecocktails were great and the wine went well with our steak. We got the calamari to start and it was very crispy and delicious.The lobster Mac and cheese and death by potatoes accompanied our steak and it was all so amazing. Haven’t been to Char in a number of year and am pleased that it still is a top notch restaurant. Everyone at the table enjoyed... their meals, the food came out in a timely manner, and the server was lovely. Although I’m not a huge steak fan, the othersthat were loved their dishes. My Family and I came to celebrate my husband's 40th, our reservation was at 4:30 for a group of 5. We arrived on time. We were... greeted and seated. Our waiter was amazing and he was training another employee, both were attentive and also making sure ourtable was taken care of. All the food and drinks were great, we ordered martines, margaritas, wine, mix drink, oyster shooterswere amazing. We order appetizers, main course, sides, and dessert, and coffee. All amazing!
