The main courses were mediocre and disappointing. Nothing stood out food wise and the only good dish was the crab cake... appetizer. The shrimp scampi was tough and tasteless and the calamari was soggy with part of the breading sliding off. Cominghere for dinner was a waste of money and time. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Red Bank has many great restaurants, but if you’re looking for a nice place to take... out your family or have a nice date, I’d recommend coming here. There were a lot of people there so I’d highly recommendmaking a reservation a few days in advance, especially on the weekends. The service was very great and highly knowledgeableabout the food. Our server explained the specials with great detail and pointed us in the right direction. We ended up gettingone of the specials, the Wagyu NY Strip Steak with bone marrow mushroom sauce. It was amazing and melted in your mouth. Thecocktails were great and the wine went well with our steak. We got the calamari to start and it was very crispy and delicious.The lobster Mac and cheese and death by potatoes accompanied our steak and it was all so amazing. I’ll be thinking of thismeal again and hope to go here again, most likely for another special occasion ???? Read more
Haven’t been to Char in a number of year and am pleased that it still is a top notch restaurant. Everyone at the table enjoyed... their meals, the food came out in a timely manner, and the server was lovely. Although I’m not a huge steak fan, the othersthat were loved their dishes. We were also celebrating a birthday and our son really had a great time. A memorable evening. Read more
My Family and I came to celebrate my husband's 40th, our reservation was at 4:30 for a group of 5. We arrived on time. We were... greeted and seated. Our waiter was amazing and he was training another employee, both were attentive and also making sure ourtable was taken care of. All the food and drinks were great, we ordered martines, margaritas, wine, mix drink, oyster shooterswere amazing. We order appetizers, main course, sides, and dessert, and coffee. All amazing! Enjoyed a lovely surf and turf dinner with wine. Staff was excellent and super accommodating. Ambiance is absolutely gorgeous... with a bar downstairs and plentiful seating throughout both floors. Would definitely return when in the area. Street parking islimited but wasn’t difficult for me to get upon arrival. Read more
Amazing chefs at this place .. over all experience is good but I felt their Raritan location is better. We ordered Lamb chops... and stuffed mushrooms as starters very well made lamb was paired with Mango chutney a very interesting combination.. We Orderedsalmon (perfectly cooked in a cedar wood paper very flavorful) Pork chop — well cooked and very flavorful. Shrimp scampi wasalso well done .
