My family and I have been coming here for years! It's my favorite restaurant in the area! They have unique cocktails, they... specialize in whiskey and bourbon drinks, but they have variety of cocktails, from gin to vodka, to rum and they're allamazing!!! Poutine is a must try appetizer there! They also have a burger of the month and themed days of the week. Absolutely delicious, went here for my 11th anniversary with my wife and the food was absolutely delicious, they made a little... sign for our anniversary, the service was amazing, and the drinks were great. My only complaint was that my whiskey sour neededjust a little more sweet to it- and that's my fault, I requested rye instead of the standard bourbon. So go here, get whatsounds good, and don't change it, they got it all dialed in. Read more
This is a great place to come for a date night during the week when it isn't so packed. During the weekend it is very busy and... loud, which makes it pretty hard to carry a conversation with the person you're with. The menu is simple, but the food is verygood. It has a classy atmosphere that makes you feel like you are treating yourself. I've been here a few times with mygirlfriend, we always enjoy it. Read more
Edit: 3/25/22 I came here for my birthday and decided to try the ribeye. I ordered it medium rare and it came completely well... done. The flavor was good, but just not at all what I ordered. Once again, our waiter didn't come to check on us until we werepretty much done eating, and at that point it was too awkward to say something because I didn't want it to seem like I was justtrying to get more food/my meal comped. Everything else was good, just disappointed in the accuracy and service. -- I've beenhere a few times, and have always had a pretty good experience. I came for dinner with my husband on a Thursday evening andthere was about a 20 minute wait. I really liked that the wait-list had a link to see where we were in line. The service waspretty good and we got our food relatively quickly. Unfortunately after we got our entrees, the waiter never came to check on usuntil we had finished eating and didn't ever refill our waters, which were empty about half way through. The food itself wasgood, though it was weird that some of the menu items didn't have prices next to them (you scan a QR code at the table thatlinks you to their menu). Read more
i still can keep it 4 stars but I liked short rib in the Victoria gardens location more then here. we went here for brunch, egg... Benedict was good but the orange juice was not fresh. so, I recommend this place for dinner more than brunch! Read more
Great food and atmosphere, the waiters good. But did take a while to your drinks when sitting at a table. Would take like 10-15... min for each drink to arrive at the table which slowed things down. I got the poutine and it wag good I finished it but thegravy they add was at time overwhelming in flavor. I tasted a burger and it was great. Bread pudding was great with nice softbread. Went for brunch. Great atmosphere, awesome food. My wife got the chimichanga and I got the avocado toast. Both were superb. I... also ordered Brussels sprouts, and we finished off with a yummy bread pudding. My only comment is that I wish it would have beena little more pudding and a little less bread. I recently visited Redlands for the first time in 45 years of living in so cal, I know I know?what the heck took me so long?!! I... don?t have an answer for that?maybe it was meant to be for the time I went????????????But I digress, I have to say I?m reallyreally impressed with downtown Redlands. I didn?t have a chance to really check it out like I wanted to so I?ll definitely beback. We were starving men looking for a place to eat, we had no agenda, no spot picked out and no direction where to eat but II?m pretty sure this place picked us! We walked by The State in our indecisiveness of trying to choose where to eat and I?mreally glad we went with the The State. First off, five stars ??????????for playing fantastic music!! The vibe is great with avery relaxed atmosphere and the staff all seemed very professional and more then that just friendly. Our waitress was Jill andwhat a sweetheart she was to us. She?s so engaging and very friendly and gave us fantastic service. I went with herrecommendation of I believe it?s called their Stack burger with a side of tempura battered onion rings ???? That burger pairedwith those rings was on point and definitely at the top of my burger experiences. Jill brought us a couple beers to try, ModernTimes black beer to be exact. It was fantastic. It complimented my meal extremely well. My boy Nick, had the braised short ribtacos with a spicy aïoli sauce on the side. The tacos were good but I liked Jill?s recommendation the best! Thanks Jill! Mythoughts on The State are pretty obvious. I?d go back again for sure. This is a great laid back place with great music, food andstaff.
