This was our second time. I am so glad it tastes just as good as the first which was 2 yrs ago. We ordered the premium omakase... (chef's picks) for $60 per person. It comes with 18 things. Appetizer, 14 nigiris, 1 handroll, choice between miso soup or friedshrimp head, ice cream (whatever the flavor is that day: it was green tea this time and last time it was black sesame). Rightnow they only serve outside and to-go. There are three tables outside so you need to reserve ahead of time. I wish I livednearby so I could go all the time! Love love love this place! Read more

Service was 5-stars?very attentive. Food was 3 to 4 stars. Had the Premium Omakase?all the darker fish (salmon, toro, uni,... yellowtail, etc.) were delicious, flavorful, and well textured, but all the whitefish (snapper, kanpachi, albacore) were chewy. Maybe some of the fish was just off that night? I did like the rice; had a finer taste than many other sushi restaurants. Myfriends that I dined with all felt similar about the sushi although we differed on the rice and almost wondered if it was brownrice. Read more

One of my favorite sushi places in all of LA county! The sushi is traditional and fresh. It's pricey but I highly recommend the... Omakase set because it is amazing. Read more

We were looking for an affordable but quality LA omakase experience and Sushi Chitose far exceeded those expectations. It's a... fairly small space hidden away in a quiet residential neighborhood. There are basic and deluxe options for omakase priced at $45and $60. We opted for deluxe as it was still a bargain relative to the standard LA fare. The quantity was impressive, in totalthere were probably around 14-15 rounds with a couple consisting of multiple pieces. As someone with a large appetite, I wasdefinitely satisfied by the end. The style was by and large pretty traditional without any crazy experimental curveballs. However, the level of technical execution was evident in the fresh, pure, and focused taste of each piece. A couple pleasantsurprises included a monkfish foie gras starter and maybe the best uni/ikura pairing I've ever had (hard to beat that proximalPacific freshness). The service was also very good throughout the meal. All in all this was an incredible bargain, maybe amongthe best in the city. I'd highly recommend Sushi Chitose to any level of sushi lover. Easily the best omakase in the entire South Bay. My friend brought me here the other day and after trying almost every fantastic... sushi spot in the area Sushi Chitose tops the list. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and of course amazing sushi makes this mynew go to spot. The premium Omakase blew my mind just as much as the standard Omakase, both are a excellent choice. The non-sushiitems like there Shishito Peppers and craft beer from Japan were to die for as well. I drive by Sushi Chitose weekly and nevernoticed it. The outside is extremely low-key but when you step inside the small, quaint Sushi bar it is warm and inviting. Ifeel like Im going to be talking about Sushi Chitose for awhile as I can not stop recommending this spot to my friends andfamily. Do yourself a favor and check out this hidden gem. Read more
