What a wonderful treasure we discovered! My sister and I spent the afternoon walking the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach and were... hoping to find a nice seafood meal to end our day. It was like a gift to our palates that we decided to try the Shorebreak Lodgeafter reading some reviews. Everything on the menu sounded yummy, but we both opted for the fall tasting menu since it wouldallow us to try more of the offerings that intrigued us. I also added the ceviche special because I don’t get to have it veryoften; it was wonderful and served with crisp and tasty tortilla chips for dipping. The tasting menu started with a lovelyassortment of cheeses accompanied by honey, raspberry jam, marcona almonds, thinly sliced red onions and balsamic drizzle servedwith a cracker assortment and it was not just delicious but fun to mix up the flavors as we sampled from the artfully preparedboard. Next came a corn, crab and coconut bisque that was bursting with flavor. I wanted to lick the bowl. In fact, I think wesaid that after every course. After the soup came a huge, perfectly browned scallop accompanied by greens, butternut squash andperfectly cooked chunks of bacon with a beet purée. The final food plate was short ribs that were so sweet and tender andmelted in your mouth that was served over a bed of creamy risotto with pesto. The finale was a thin slice of fudgy and deliciouschocolate layer cake that was the perfect size to finish on a sweet note without overdoing the quantity of food. We’re alreadytrying to plan a return visit for more of their fabulous menu items. I’m a water drinker, but my sister said her sangria wasreally good. Our lovely server Laura was a pleasant addition to the overall experience as was the smooth jazz playing in thebackground and the decor that added to the ambiance. Read more
The scallops were excellent. The butternut squash was a terrific compliment. It's not an inexpensive place, but food quality... and service level were high. Desserts were homemade and very good. Would certainly recommend, just budget accordingly. Read more
Loved it! I would go again. It's one of the few places on Rehoboth that accepts reservations during peak season, which was... awesome. Food was perfect. The owner stopped by our table to say hi and check on on things which is always a plus in my book.My surf and turf was *chef's kiss*. The scallops, short ribs, and risotto were just perfection. I had a white cranberry cosmoand it was pretty strong. My husband said his pork chop cut like butter and he loved it! For dessert - Get. The. Carrot. Cake.One of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend the Shorebreak Lodge Restaurant! The owners were friendly and welcoming to guests. The food was fresh and... tasted amazing! I had the squid ink pasta dish and it was perfect! The ambience was posh but relaxed, with samba music playingduring dinner. This is my new favorite restaurant steps away from the beach. Read more
Amazing meal and service! We ordered the octopus appetizer to start which was the freshest octopus we've ever had. For main... entree we had the surf n turf and the porch k chop. Both were cooked to perfection. Our server Michael recommended our dishesand was spot on with his suggestions. Everything was so good we changed our plans for dinner the next night to return. Service was great. Food was good. Ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees. My husband really enjoyed his lamb osso buco. I... loved the house made potato truffle soup. The Brie and naan were ok. The hummus was good. I ordered the roasted beat and goatcheese salad and I’m pretty sure it had blue cheese on it instead. Unfortunately I strongly dislike blue cheese. Tried this restaurant for the first time and will definitely be back. You know you’ve found a new favorite place when you... can’t decide which unique menu item to order. I ended up with the charred octopus and scallops appetizer portions. We alsoordered the brussel sprout app and it was a 10. The char on the octopus was unlike any other way I’ve had it prepared andeveryone at the table wanted a bite. The scallops were expertly cooked but the rest of the dish was the star - butternut squash,puréed beets and beet greens had me wishing I could mop up the plate. We had a fabulous experience eating here prior to our wedding. My husband and I took our families for a special dinner and... enjoyed every moment of it! The staff were incredible--so friendly and accommodating. The manager came out to see how our mealswere and made sure that we were having a fantastic experience. The food was out of this world!
