The food is good but they have changed the menu. We use to be able to get a meal for 2 for a lot of different items. But they... took that out. Now if I tried to get all the items on that meal I would have to spend 4 times the amount. The portions on thatmeal was just right for my husband and I. I?m very disappointed. I?m afraid I won?t be going back because I can?t afford to buymore than I want. Read more

This. This is the Teriyaki joint that stands above the rest in 2022. In an era where ALL other teriyaki places have raised... prices by up to 50% or more, and reduced meat portions significantly, this place isn't too far off from the pre-pandemic prices, and most importantly, the pre-pandemic PORTIONS. Portion sizes are quite large and healthy, plenty of meat included which ishonestly impressive (almost all other teriyaki places in the area have anemic meat portions to try and mitigate their spiralingfood costs) The quality in my opinion is fine. It's comparable to a pre-pandemic middle-of-the-road neighborhood teriyaki stop. Not the absolute best teriyaki I've ever had, but almost all other teriyaki establishments saw a drop in quality leaving HappyAt The Bay on top. The chicken has that delicious glaze, the teriyaki sauce is not too viscous or sweet, the rice is plump andfull (not overcooked and mushy), and the pork/beef tastes savoury without being riddled with cartilage/gristle (another rampantissue with other teriyaki shops). Where this place really stands apart is their fried rice dishes. They have bits of chicken, pork, beef and shrimp and season it with some super savory/delicious sauces and a hint of sesame oil. Again, I want to highlightthe very large portion sizes. For about $12, the quality-to-price ratio is absolutely unbeatable. Cons: You are not allowed toset a custom tip amount. I always enjoy throwing an extra $1 or $2 on a carry out order to support a local restaurant, butwithout the option to I just forego the tip (min option is 10% which can be way higher than that if you're ordering for multiplepeople). The food was good but I do not appreciate having an automatic gratuity added after I had put a tip in the tip jar. I also did... not appreciate being charged for a plastic bag when we didn't do take out. Just not right and I will not go back because ofthat. Read more

The main reason I cannot stand Washington is because people do not know good food at all. I have no idea what them other reviews... are talking about but this is by far the nastiest teriyaki spot in Washington. The presentation is horrible. When I opened mytray I was shocked. Because not only did I ask for extra sauce but I should?ve asked for extra teriyaki chicken too. Happy thatI didn?t because the food was awful the chicken was at least 3 days old minimum. The orange chicken taste like orange gizzards. And the rice was the major disappoint. I?m honestly sad I wasted my money on this place. Read more

Used to frequent this establishment often, I think they changed ownership. Just picked up a bunch of food from here, no flavor... in the food, and there was a hair in my food also. Maybe they were having an off night for flavor but no excuse for hair in thefood. Read more

We found this place a few months ago and we loved the food, very delicious, never disappointed, not even once, always great.... Fast delivery and never missed anything. You can also place your order and pick up, which I did today, place was clean andwell-maintained, great customer service, free parking... so far best teriyaki place. Read more
