Great food and drinks and great staff. The view is gorgeous. Only complaint is the bugs. I understand the restaurant is a large... part a patio but the amount of flies and wasps both in and outside the restaurant is really unappetizing and ruins theexperience for people that have a wasp phobia. Shout out to Emily P! (Waitress) Very friendly service. She took the extra time making sure my order was right, even though she... was very busy training a new employee at the time. The first beer I ordered resembled something you would order at Starbucks...with the amount of foam on top (London fog, perhaps) Emily poured my second beer herself because the bar keep was away from herstation. Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. Not too busy sat at the bar. Service was friendly. We had the ramen and jerk chicken tacos... with poutine. Both were very tasty. The ramen had a nice spicy kick to it. Looks like a fun place to Apres on the big sunnypatio. Read more
TLDR: Unmet Expectations, Good Food & Service My family and I have been here three times, each time on a different visit to... Revelstoke. The first time, we were blown away by the environment, service, and most of all, the exceptional food. The asianthemed menu items were a welcome sight after days of endless burgers and pasta. We left that night with a full and happy belly.Second time we came, same experience, although we noticed they had removed a few asian items off the menu and replaced them withthe typical steaks and burgers. This time, also the third time, we entered and sat down eager to scan the menu. Alas, ourexpressions turned a little disappointed when we realized that there was one and only one entree left on the menu that was asianthemed, and that was the Kimchi Ramen. The other entrees were the typical chicken, salmon, and three different styles of steak.I mean seriously, three different steaks and only a ramen to substitute for the asian elements. We ended up ordering the Ramen,the Chicken with Orzo, and the Salmon with Orzo. The orzo was well cooked and buttery. The chicken was lightly fried yet tenderand juicy on the inside, smothered in a cheese paste of some sort. The salmon was cooked to a beautifully orange medium and wastender. The ramen was a giant let-down. The broth resembled NOTHING like a ramen broth. It was watery and tasted faintly of thepickling involved in the making of kimchi. The noodles were okay, and the pork served with it was one dry slab that was fried,not typical ramen pork. For dessert, we had the delectable Salted Toffee Cake, which we recognized from our last visit. It wasquite sweet but very, very delicious. Our server was attentive and continuously checked in on us, asking if our food was good.She was very nice and totally welcoming. Blandest mac and cheese I've ever had. Same with the burgers. The food in looks very pretty in the photo but very lacking in... taste. Not worth the high prices at all. We went on a weekday and it was still fairly busy. The restaurant was about 3/4 full.The hostess looked miserable. She did not look happy to see us. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese. I got four dried out,shrivelled up, tasteless bites of lobster meat on top of my mac and cheese. The dish had no flavor and it was very dry. It wasnot cheesy at all and felt like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. I was very disappointed because it lookedamazing and tasted just awful. I've had better kraft dinner. My husband was very disappointed with his burger. The patty wasvery thin, overcooked and incredibly dry. It too was lacking in flavor. They overcompensated for the extremely thin 1/8th of aninch patty by stacking on 2 inches of greens. We were seated by the door and attacked by dozens of flies. We were re-seated andattacked again. The waitress moved us yet again to a third table and I still had flies swarming all over my food. It wasdisgusting and severely disrupted my meal as I was trying to eat while waving my hands in the air trying to stop insects fromlanding on me. I wasn't offered any discount for my inconvenience. They could have at least offered me a free drink or dessertfor having flies crawling all over my food and having to change tables three times. The mac and cheese said it comes withfocaccia crisp. Not sure what that is but I didn't get it. Just a plate of mac and cheese and nothing else. For 22 bucks theycould have thrown in some garlic bread or a side salad. Delicious food and great service. The scenery topped it off. We had the beef nachos to start which was a fantastic mix of... flavour. I had the halibut fish tacos and my man had the crusted chicken sandwich, both were amazing! Not one complaint. Greatselection of craft beers too. All around wonderful experience. We were attracted by the menu choices online and were astounded by the view, staff and ambiance in person. Th only thing better... than the atmosphere was the food! Fresh, super flavourful and cooked to perfection. An out-of-the-way must stop in Revelstoke…and try the Moscow Mule! Read more
