This place is always busy, so they must be doing something right. But I don't know what. We've eaten here only twice--about a... year apart. After a negative experience we wanted to give it a second try. Great service. Good decor. But the food isconsistently disappointing. In two meals we tried 7 different dishes. Nobody finished their plates--and that's unusual for myfamily. See today's sliced brisket which was stringy, burnt, tough, and impossible to cut with a knife. I actually reconfirmedwith the server: This is the sliced brisket, right? Not the burnt ends? She assured me yes. Last year's ribs were equally toughand overcooked. Maybe they just overcook? Or maybe they serve it over a couple of days so it gets overdone? Our other meals wereall cold upon arrival. (Except for the tiny seasoned potatoes, which were hot and delicious.) The lemonade was also really good.So YMMV. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Not willing to risk a third fail tho. But go see for yourself. Fingers crossedfor a good time. Read more
Great server. Nice & clean place. Ordered a New York New York steak. Tasteless. No flavors on it. I had to add salt and pepper... or else it was just plain. It was perfectly cooked though. Mac and cheese was half cold half hot. Like it was just defrosted.Cheese curds & the salad were the only good things. Sweet tea had no sweetness to it. I wouldn't come again unless I brought myown seasonings. Restroom could use some cleaning. Read more
Excellent BBQ - best we?ve had in Idaho so far. Burnt t ends are sweet and super tasty. Ribs were just the right level of gooey... goodness. Pulled chicken was moist and full of smoky flavor. Service was prompt and all the food was piping hot and fresh. Read more
What a delicious place to go with your family! We go here with our large groups (with reservation) every time we have an event... nearby! It is delicious, has so many options, and gets a recommendation from me everytime I can talk about it! I don't thinkit's fair to compare this establishment to Texas Roadhouse as so many do, not because I think Texas Roadhouse is bad orirreparable, but this is much much better than that. There is a homegrown, comfortable, happy feeling when you are here! Yourwaiters make you feel welcome and listened to, they always give amazing recommendations and help to those who need it! They areon top of refilling drinks and serving large groups and small alike! I love getting any of their steaks and they're littlepotatoes are beyond delicious!!! Always try a new lemonade when you have the chance because they are all good! I wish I couldexpress how quality this restaurant is because it can seem unassuming but I would go here over any other restaurant any day! Iwould consider this a "fancier" place to eat since they have such quality food, but don't feel the need to come dressed in yourSunday best! I had very high expectations about this place. The food had good flavor, but I was surprised the BBQ meat was just barely warm,... almost room temperature. This makes me think they just have the meat on warmers and it may be sitting around for awhile. Theturkey was surprisingly very flavorful. The sautéed corn was not good at all. The bake beans were tasty. We ordered the familyplatter to try all the meats. The menu says it feeds 4-6 people, but in reality it would only feed three. Not my first choicefor good BBQ. Read more
I enjoyed this place. I came in on a weekday around 3pm and the place was not busy at all. I really liked their menu due to the... large selection and lots of unique entrees offered. I got the Frankenstein Burger with a side of slaw. I?d like to come backagain if I?m ever in the area for dinner. Great food! ???? Read more
Ordered a fish n chips variation, and the three cod pieces were maybe 4 inches long at best and not really warm at all. Also... got a side of ribs, waitress told me they'd be about 5 bucks of an upcharge for a pound, which i felt was pretty good. Came outas 3-4 inch baby back ribs, i got maybe 4 (one was an end piece of sorts and had hardly any meat on it). They were also not warmat all. Check came out and it was actually 8 dollars for those teeny little morsels of ribs, asked the server why it was 8instead of 5, said she couldn't find a way to put it in correctly so just did that instead...? Pretty annoyed that wasn'tdiscussed with us, however she was able to take it back down to 5. Got nachos as well and those were horrid. Nacho cheese orqueso was almost like a porridge in texture. Also used the end crumblies of a bag of chips as the nacho base, instead of openinga new bag. I'll add a photo of what it looked like. Just disgusting, notified server of little crumbling pieces of what wassupposed to be actual chips, she came back with a little side of chips for us to dip into the crumble mess ???? Overall notimpressed, i don't think I'll ever be back here. Every time we told server of something like the chip crumblies instead ofactual chips in the nachos or the food being cold, she didn't really offer a solution or even a discount, it just blew my mind.If you are going to charge higher prices but not have at least decent quality food, you're not worth my time. BEST wedding vendor I worked with! Aside from the food being absolutely phenomenal the service was amazing. The Hickory catered... our wedding and I highly recommend them. They were so kind and helped us with a tasting before the wedding then came, set up,took down and had all spare food ready to go for us after. This vendor for a wedding is the best. Any bride who doesn't wantstress go with The Hickory. Also again the food was great! Read more
