My mom and I were in New Albany for an appt, we live about 2 1/2 hrs away from there so we always like to eat somewhere new that... we do not have. We definitely made a good choice!! The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was nice and therewere 2 major things that stuck out to me... Posted on each table was a note to their patrons about their rules on behaviortoward their staff. I have worked in customer service most of my life and this is something that instantly made me know thesepeople care about their employees more than they care about making money so that was nice and then I went into the women'srestroom and although someone had been there working since we'd gotten there the restroom was clean and smelled nice. On thesink counter was a basket stocked with feminine products and a bottle of body spray. Way to go hickory house!! We were veryimpressed ???? Read more

First time visit to the Hickory House and it won't be the last! Stopped by on a Saturday evening and was told it would be a... 20-40 min wait to be seated. We were seated in 20 min. Our server Alexis was just fantastic. Very attentive, super friendly andconsiderate of her coworkers. The wait for the food after ordering was average for how busy the restaurant was. The foodhowever was far from average. Everything was excellent! From the sweet butter and crunchy bread to the perfectly prepared, smoky, moist, huge rack of ribs, no detail was missed. The BBQ sauce itself, had about 4 distinct flavors...that's a sauce madewith care. The loaded baked potato is a delicious, cheesy smoked bacon, homemade sour cream and chive topped, meal by itself! The atmosphere is charming, relaxing and clean. All staff encountered were friendly and attentive. Prices are about average forexcellent BBQ. The Hickory House is definitely on my "go to" list for exceptional food and service! Read more

My wife and I don't get to this side of town often, but when we do, we always try to get to the Hickory House. We've had a... variety of items off their menu, but I recommend that everyone go with the ribs. They are delicately delicious. Read more

Exceptional Dining Experience From Beginning to End. We arrived at peak dinner hour. The establishment was prepared with plenty... of seating for the hungry folks waiting. The hostess was extremely friendly and gave us a waiting time of only 15 minutes.Quite surprised, and unsure they would be able to make their 15 minute wait time stick I started timing. They made it with timeto spear, 11 minutes and we were being seated! In 8 minutes from being seated we already had our drinks and beautiful dinnersalads. The salads were refreshing. The pleasing crisp lettuce was topped with fresh onion, tomato, cheese, and crispy chowmein noodles. It had just the right amount of blue cheese dressing. The dressing was absolutely delicious. Not sure if it is ahouse dressing, however, the creamy mixture had wonderful chunks of blue cheese perfectly spread throughout. While enjoying oursalad the appetizer of onion straws with a house BBQ sauce was delivered. The crispy breading on the straws of onion, drizzledwith the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce dance on my tongue. When our dinner arrived I was so excited. I ordered the pick two. Thesirloin steak cooked medium rare did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly. The savory mouth watering juices sparkled withevery bite I took. No need for any steak sauce here as the beautifully seasoned meat did its job. The BBQ ribs just fell apart. The thick season rubbed meat was melt in your mouth heaven with the drinkable sauce that was slathered on it! The baked sweetpotato was precisely cooked with the precise amount of cinnamon honey butter to mix through. My husband cleaned his plate soI'd say the award winning porterhouse lived up to its name! He complimented the chef by saying it was the best meal we'd sharedin ages. Our absolutely delightful server Alexis K. never missed a beat. She was on top of our needs and served us with justthe right amount of check ins and end of dinner conversation. Amazing job to her and incredibly ph Read more

Ordered carryout from here for the first time. The restaurant looks very inviting and clean. Certainly would like to eat there... sometime. Food was excellent tasting but ribs were not hot, not even warm. Feel like they boxed them first then took time tocook other items. Would have been 5 stars if it has been served hot. Read more

Came here a while back now, hadn?t had the opportunity to review this location sooner. The food was satisfactory, the steaks... were cooked to order and sizable. Quality was toward the top end of choice options, which was responsible for the pricing. Thebroccoli and mac and cheese were great! The food menu itself was a bit cluttered but manageable, the drink menu looked throwntogether in 5 minutes and failed to mention any pricing, and was not up to date. The old fashioned I had was underwhelming, asolid 2/5. Nothing special. She had what they called a ?New Fashion? which was a creamsicle sort of cocktail, it was decent! Theinterior was decorated in a sort of western, classic style and fit the environment well. Overall I would recommend! Read more
