I'm a regular here, I come here more than the other locations. Excellent staff, drinks, food, and games! There's something for... everybody here and extremely family friendly, though FYI to families, after 9 P.M. it's 18+ only on weekdays (21+ on Friday andSaturday) and all minors must leave. The community also regularly holds competitions in various games across all genres! Read more

Last night was my first time here. What a cute little bar/arcade. Didn’t get food, but will def order next time. Atmosphere is... cool, it was mostly adults, a few kids. Bartenders were very nice. Perfect date night spot. The fact that you just pay the coverand it’s free play is so neat. I will def be back Read more

This place was awesome! I loved getting to play so many games for one price. I think I spent over five hours there! The food is... decent — nothing to cry home about but nothing to complain about. I will say the bartenders weren’t the friendliest in theworld, but I suppose we all can become jaded after dealing with rude customers. This place is a must visit if you’re in townand looking to have some fun with your pals or significant other. Read more

This place is awesome. It’s a flat $12 to get in and it’s unlimited play on the games. They have a lot of variety of beer in... cans as well which is nice. You can tell by the way the games feel that these people truly care about the quality of theirmachines. I couldn’t find one game that was broken. Read more

My work involves a lot of travel and I’ve been fortunate to visit multiple arcades around the world, including Japan. I’d... easily rank the four Free Play locations in the DFW metro area collectively as the best arcades I’ve visited in the UnitedStates. In fact, I think the fact they routinely acquire new games and swap out machines on the floor gives them an advantageover the few remaining retro Japanese arcades. In short, THIS is how you do an arcade right. I hate the term “barcade” butI suppose this is one in the sense they have an impressive bar and kitchen on site. That said, unlike almost every otherself-styled barcade I’ve visited, the drinks and food complement the games rather than serve as the primary attraction. Whatsets Free Play apart is the diversity and rarity of its games. These feature some true gems on original hardware that go wellbeyond the dime-a-dozen Pac-Man and Centipede cabs found elsewhere. For example, the Richardson location (at the time of thiswriting) has an ultra-rare Planet Harriers, an Atomiswave running Dolphin Blue, the first Beast Busters, Do Don Pachi, PowerStone 2, and the original Marvel Vs. Capcom…to name just a few. I’m not really into pinball but there are quite a few ofthose machines on the floor too. Whether you’re a serious arcade enthusiast or just a casual player who wants an afternoonwith your kids, I can’t recommend Free Play enough. Read more

Love this franchise. I've been to three so far and nothing but awesomeness ensues. Old school as well as some new video games... plus pinballs galore, good drinks, and food. Keep it up, FP! Read more

I hosted a grown up party here and it was a huge hit! Gayle was very prompt about answering me with what she needed and what to... expect. The staff had the food ready when I asked and it was delicious! The food may sound like “arcade” food, but it wasactually really really good and so beautifully presented! I highly recommend hosting events here. Read more
