Quite busy at lunch time, great service! The fish was fresh, a bit heavy on the coating, but didn't taste too greasy. Dave's Fish and Chips was a very enjoyable meal. The Cod I ordered had a very neat-looking, yet absolutely crispy outside layer.... The Cod itself was also very big in size, and it tasted very delicious and smelled so tempting. The fried were well-fried andwas just in the right size. Just like the Cod, the fries... Absolutely fantastic!! Customer service was also very friendly andwait time was reasonable. Definitely recommend!!!! Just one drawback though, I personally think there is too much paperwrapping for the meal. It might have been for absorbing the grease, I know. Massive thank-you to every single one of the staff working at Dave's today!! We had a car meet at the park and rolled over to... Dave's for food. We really appreciate you accommodating our party of over a dozen people last minute. All the staff were superfriendly, and our server was on point. Thank you to the staff for such a wonderful experience, & an even better meal! My friends, & I decided to try Dave's on a whim,... they were able to accommodate us(14 people) on the fly! We really lucked out for a Saturday. I highly recommend Dave's Fish, &Chips if you're in Steveston. Friendly and attentive staff, perfect portion, great experience overall. Got the First Mates Platter with Cod. I liked that the... oysters, scallops and prawns had a different batter than the cod. Minor detail but I enjoyed the difference in texture. I foundthe prawns to be slightly over cooked, but they were large and still tasty?everything else was crisp on the outside with tenderseafood on the inside. I visited this place for a Saturday lunch . The ambience was very pretty and staff were polite. I tried calamari and two cod... fries with chips & coleslaw. The tartar sauce was yummy. Both the cod fries and calamari were well cooked and crispy. Total billwas around 28$. Vaccination protocols were also in place. I will love to come back again to try the other dishes. Read more
Went on a weekend evening for dinner and the place was quite busy. There were only one or two tables available. There was no... wait to be seated and the servers were polite when ordering and serving the food. They were quite busy that night, so it was theeasiest to get their attention. Despite the busyness, staff were still able to serve the food and drinks in a timelymanner. The fish batter was crispy and flavourful and matched nicely with the coleslaw. The chowder was thick and flavourfuland contained quite a bit of seafood. The onion rings were crispy, but it was quit a lot of grease to be consuming when therewere fried fish already. It is a little pricey, but it was not completely unreasonable. Even though it was quite busy, thestaff did not rush us out and were very friendly. Would recommend for a casual bite to eat. Read more
