Very pleasant experience! Great food! Great service! I particularly like the Seven Flavor Power they have on the table because... it actually is spicy. Most of the same kind of powers I had before is not spicy at all. Read more

Best Japanese comfort food in Richmond!!! The service here was also top notch, I love restaurants that have the call bell, the... waiters were very attentive to our needs and even offered a bigger table to our party before our food came! Got the Ichiro donand it was filling and delicious, will come again! Read more

One of my favourite restaurants lately. It's a truly authentic Japanese restaurant, from staff to chef and of course the food.... We ordered the Saba set and Sukiyaki set. Both are very delicious. The side dishes are very unique, especially the tamago withunagi embedded. It gets pretty busy during the rush hours so reservation is recommended. We can't wait to come back and visitagain! Haven't been here since almost a decade and my sister hasn't tried here yet so we dropped by one dinner. We were lucky enough to... get bar seats since it was busy. There were so many to choose from on the menu but I went with the katsu nabe set and my sisjust went with a simple noodles and tempura, and we shared an Atlantic salmon sashimi. We were told the sashimi was fresh but itwas kinda mushy. The katsu nabe set was the worst udon and katsu I've ever had. The katsu was super dry and overcooked--the udonwas also overcooked and the soup was super bland; all the toppings also didn't taste like it was with the soup flavour at all,it was really bad. For the sides, the rolls were also really horrible--super dry, bland, crumbling and almost falling apart. Theagedashi tofu is cold. The only thing I liked were the wasabi and the pickled veggies. Same with my sister's order, overcookednoodles, way more bland soup (I don't remember her saying anything about the tempura). We didn't even finish the food bec theywere so bad. We had to go to a different place bec my sister was still hungry. We won't be going back there ever again. Read more

It?s been a couple of years since we been to Ichiro and I must say the other Japanese restaurants in Richmond have really caught... up and or surpassed it. The quality is still decent but the presentation and the taste just isn?t as good as some of the otherhigh end sushi places. Price on certain items like nigiri and sashimi are high while others like rolls and battera are mid tier.Taste would be great if it was 30% cheaper but it?s not and therefore value isn?t as good as it used to be. Don't expect sauced up California rolls or a billion different special rolls. If you want good combination sets with simple yet... carefully executed authentic sushi and other Japanese cuisine offerings this is a great place. They do have special rolls butthe flavors are still delicate. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Read more

This is our first time here. We live 10 minutes away. I highly recommend making reservations and bring your ID and proof of... vaccinations because they will check. You are allowed to enjoy your visit for 90 minutes. First off I'd like to say from thephone call to the service, they had been professional, courteous and very respectful. We came in for a 6pm reservation. They satus immediately. I believe not all tables have this option of ringing for service when you are ready. Smart. Second, the menu wasquite full of variety and wonderful looking options. We ordered, prawn and assorted tempura, assorted sashimi, which was chosenby the sushi chef ( 7 items ): shrimp, high grade tuna, tuna belly in a sesame oil and green onion mixture, salmon, sea urchinroe, snapper I think or yellow tail, and one other that I swear tasted like lovely beef carpaccio but wasn't, tempura andchicken karaage don and soba noodles, roll set consisting of California rolls, avocado rolls, kappa rolls, dynamite rolls, sunomono salad and edamame. We also ordered Japanese calamari with a subtle mayo sesame dipping sauce. Everything about thismeal was excellent. The rolls weren't rolled with too much rice. The quality of the sashimi was incredibly fresh and delicious. The house made soy sauce was light and paired well with the sashimi. The japanese chefs to the Japanese servers were great. Theserver was attentive and friendly. The value for money was good. I want to go back and try the other items. The tempura waslightly battered and tasty. We were so pleasantly satisfied. Our server came by with a scoop of green tea ice cream with acandle on top to celebrate my son's birthday today. How sweet. And yes I ordered a scoop of mango ice cream and it was a perfectway to cap off the evening. Thank you staff of Ichiro. Read more

Fantastic sushi. The fish are fresh and the prices are fair. We left the restaurant feeling happy with the food.
