We ordered #46, #57 and #12 take out today and these are what we got. For #46, What a joke! There was NO pork chop, NO shredded... pork! NO Egg! Both of the two pieces of meat were overcooked dried chicken. For #57, the beef rib was over cooked too andtasted as hard as a board. When we ordered, we didn?t like vermicelli, so we changed it into rice. We thought ????????? meansGrilled beef rib and steak. Well it turned out ???means a special steamed vermicelli?so after we changed vermicelli into rice ithad nothing different with #54 but we still paid $1 more. For #12, I think this was the only one normal today. What adisappointment! We paid $50.75, waited half an hour there, what we got was a bad surprise. They used to add shredded pork tomost of their dishes even when it was not written on the menu, this time they took a lot of things out even when they werewritten on the menu. We will never go there again. Read more

Thai Son in Richmond has a long history of being a popular place for Vietnamese food. It is primarily authentic food, with... little in the way of adaptation to other cultures. That's a good thing in my mind. The restaurant was busy, very busy. Everytable was in use and there was a line of people waiting for a table. I wish they would take names; but the staff seem contentto let the line manage its' self. It does seem to work, as we were quickly seated. Service is very fast paced. There seems tobe no time for pleasantries. Our order was taken and food delivered, that's about it. Wait staff did not return to check on usand you just approach the cash register when you want to pay. Be aware: this restaurant only accepts cash. The place was notperfectly clean. As busy as it was, how could it be clean? Our table was well wiped though, and we had no problems with dirtydishes or cutlery. The food was delicious. We had porkchops and shredded pork skin on broken rice with a sunny side up egg. Ialso had the pork salad rolls. Everything was so tasty and well done. It's nice to find a restaurant without cutting cornersby plating this dish using long grain rice. Broken rice has a distinct texture that is needed in this dish. My only concernwas post-meal swelling. Too much salt? Perhaps. Or were they using MSG? In any case, those who are sensitive may want to usecaution. I can say I loved my meal, and the shortcomings are minor. Well worth a visit when in Richmond. Read more

Huge disapointment. We order Ph? ??c bi?t (special Pho) and 2 dishes of c?m t?m (broken rice). Pho was too salty. Com tam dishes... didn't come with broken rice. The rice was soggy. Grilled meat was seasoned way too sweet. This place's worth 1 star but I gaveit 2 stars since the server seems nice and responsible. Even though he was on break and having lunch, he still paid attention tothe diners and greeted them. Read more

Wow!!! The shrimp, pork, and bean sprout filled Vietnamese Crepe is amazing! It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside... and huge! Great portions and fresh food. Also has all the usual Pho place staples. The egg yolk condensed milk soda wasdelicious too and tasted like you were drinking white rabbit candy. Read more

Food tastes great and generous serving. Restaurant was busy so obviously, regulars always come back for more. I was just... surprised because of the name "Thai Son". I thought it was a "Thai" restaurant but it was Vietnamese :) Read more

I ordered #11, noodle with raw beef, tendon and tripe. The quality of beef is not good, it was chewy. The tripe was not fully... cooked, it was rubbery. The pork chop with rice #44 tastes bad. The rice was watery, the shredded pork smells bad and tastesequally bad. The shrimp/beef roll is bland, peanut sauce was more like thick brown sauce with bits of peanuts. The only goodthings we found nice here were the server and the chandelier. Read more

Ordered a pork chop rice. The meat did not taste fresh and a bit dry. The combo set also came with vermicelli chicken and... steamed pork with egg. The pork chop tasted lots of msg I did not like the deep fried spring roll, I prefer if they had usedrice paper to do the spring rolls. Read more
