Galo's Italian Grill is a wonderful restaurant to experience when in the Richmond area. The exterior is well maintained, and the... shrubs are well cared for. The interior is tastefully decorated with Italian scenes and furniture. The seating is spacious andcomfortable with clean tables and cloth napkins. Our waitress was Kaitlyn, who explained the menu and some of the favorites andanswered our questions with authority. The menu has many choices from appetizers to desserts with several having differentcombinations. We choose a couple of basic entrees of meat lasagna and meat balls and penne pasta. The meal comes with bread anddipping sauce. The bread was very good with some cheese baked on top and very crusty. The herb oil was excellent and made thebread even better. We even got a second serving of bread. The meat balls and penne pasta was excellent with a delicious marinarasauce that had plenty of chunky tomatoes and vegetables. The penne was cooked just right as it was not soggy nor chewy. Thelasagna was excellent also with plenty of meat, cheese and sauce with just right noodles. Kaitlyn visited our table severaltimes to ask about the meal as well as being very pleasant to talk to about Italy. As it turned out we took about half of eachmeal with us along with some more bread and oil with us to have the next day. We also ordered a very generous piece of turtlecheesecake to go with us. Kaitlyn packaged all of the turtle toppings separately so we could finish preparing it the next day.The leftovers were prepared in a microwave and tasted just like in the restaurant. The quality and quantity of food for theprice was excellent. We were visiting the area for a few days when we found Galo's. We will definitely return to Galo's when inthe area again. Service was top notch! Abby was a great server!! Had the wood fired chicken Alfredo. Very good. And the bread with oil is the... best taste ever!!! I went back the next week and had the filet mignon. It was the best steak I've had in years. Perfectly cookedand so tender!! Read more
I went here with my aunt. I ordered the pasta rustica with penne pasta instead of spaghetti. The peppers were unevenly cut and... not cooked fully. The mushrooms were too thickly cut. The sausage was just gray looking with no browning or anything. On top ofthat it has no flavor. We were just passing through and we're starving, we voiced our complaints and the manager did offer toreplace the meal, we were not interested in a replacement. The owner took 50% off our bill. Save your money though. Alfredo froma can tastes better than this place. Read more
Had an unusual experience. The food was excellent and so was the service. My only complaint is when cleaning the tables near us... they used a strong smelling cleaner that choked me up and when presented to the manager she blew us off. I have asthma so itkind of effected our whole experience. Keep in mind the tables are about two feet away from each other. Read more
One of the best restaurants in the area! Galo's never disappoints. Such a beautiful restaurant with a romantic feel to it. Our... dinner was absolutely fantastic as always. The bread and oil to start was perfect. Both of our meals were top notch. She had themushroom ravioli and I had the penne carbonara. Crazy good! So rich and flavorful. We finished up sharing some tiramisu fordessert and the wife also had a cup of coffee with some Irish cream. And last, but not least, our waitress was extraordinary asusual. This restaurant was by far my favorite! The presentation of the dishes was simply amazing. We had to wait for the remainder of... our party to arrive so we sat at the bar. The bartender was courteous and we didn't have to wait for service. Then we were takento meet the rest of our party. We all ordered different dishes and the quantity was as good as the quality! I have been to Richmond a few times and everyone always makes sure we stop at Galos's Italian Grill for dinner. Their food is... always hot and fresh and the service is very friendly and always has the best recommendations. The atmosphere is unique but verycomfortable as well. Read more
