I was so excited to discover a new coffee/breakfast place, and one that\'s filling the spot of Saadia\'s nonetheless. The... Ethiopian breakfast sampler was one of the best meals I\'ve had in Richmond - I\'ll be thinking about the Egg Silsi for a longtime to come. The house latte was great, and we got some baklava to go. On our way out, we had a lovely chat with the ownerLily. Before I even left Buna Kurs, I was recommending it to friends. I\'m so happy I stumbled upon this gem and we\'ll be backsoon! Read more

I loved my visit to Buna Kurs! The aromas alone when you walk in and sit down… you can just smell the spices and deliciousness... that they’re cooking up. I had the Fu’ul (made vegan) and it was so good!!! Each bite tasted fresh, flavorful, and filling.Needless to say, I scraped the plate clean :) The Shai Bekimem tea was also really good with warm spices that are perfect forthese winter months. I will definitely be back! Read more

Buna Kurs is an amazing place! We arrived just before closing and even so, the owner was so kind and welcoming. We had delicious... iced coffees, baklava with some special honey (with a delicious secret ingredient!), as well as sambusas. All super tasty andincredible. I can’t wait to go back and bring friends! Excellent Ethiopian /Eritrean brunch spot. Honestly, the best eats you can possibly find in the city. Freshest food. Friendliest... staff. Especially if you are vegetarian or vegan, don\'t go anywhere else but here. Absolutely unbeatable compared to otherrestaurants in the area. The food quality for me has also been consistently excellent. Bunakurse Cafe is perfect if you’resomeone like me who just wants to order online and grab a quick takeout after university/work/sports or whatever else. It’salso family friendly brunch spot. A lovely little space to visit in the heart of Jackson Ward! This spot has such a comfy and inviting interior with lots of... natural light! I tried their drip coffee since the owner (such a friendly woman!) informed me they use an Ethiopian roast. Iusually don’t order drip coffee when I visit a cafe but theirs was delicious! I added a splash of half and half and some ofthis special honey with spices they had available on the counter, I loved every sip. I also tried the injera fir fir and was ahuge fan! It was spiced superbly and made for a great introduction to Ethiopian breakfast :) I would 100% recommend this toanyone craving something a little more than traditional cafe fare. Seems like a great place to get some work done or meet afriend too! Read more
