We had an unexpected pitstop driving home for Thanksgiving in Richmond and we googled breakfast food and to our luck this place... was a block from the hotel and the reviews were great. We are so happy that everything aligned and we found this place. I gotthe Spicy Chicken Waffle and my wife got the Grandma Waffle and they were delicious. I got the mimosa and my wife got theS'milkshake. We recommend the Capitol Waffle Shop and are so happy we chose to come here and will be back in the future when inRichmond. Only downside is there is limited seating but we got here 9am on a Sunday and there were two tables available. If youhave a large party it may be hard to find seating, but the wait will be worth it. Came here for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it. I was taken aback by how many options there were. I had the RVA... waffle and it was great. Nice amount of spice, that paired quite well with the sweetness of the waffle. For those that drink, Irecommend getting a mimosa with your waffle. Staff was friendly. What a cute little place with a great tasting waffle! The atmosphere is relaxed people just flowing in and out. I will say the... music was a little louder than I would have liked but the flavor of the waffle and chicken was so good I could ignore themusic!! The coffee wasnt bad either!! Luckily got in as I arrived 10 minutes before they opened. The shop was filled moments after. The waffles are really good. There... are so many toppings to choose from, maybe too many. I was pleasantly surprised at the fried chicken waffle. I never saw thiscombination but they nailed it. Read more
Their motto is, ?waffles are just pancakes with abs.? I love that! The restaurant was a great find - the service was efficient... and friendly, the prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. We had the standard chicken and waffles with scrambledeggs and coffee. But, you can go wild. Capitol Waffle has a lot of creative topping choices (for example, Captain Crunch,berries, chocolate syrup and whipped cream) so there is something for everyone. This is a great small business! If you?re in Richmond and need a good breakfast spot you?re in for a treat. They have so many... different dessert style waffles to choose from, thankfully it was a group of us so we all ordered different things from the icecream waffles to the egg bowls. I?ve always heard about this place and seen pictures but never been. After riding around trying to find a spot for brunch, we... landed here. 10/10 would recommend! I got the got the country breakfast waffle and it was delicious. The waffle itself was goodtoo and fluffy. Everything on the waffle tasted great and cooked perfectly. The sweet tea was top tier!
