Great BBQ - got the brisket and pulled pork meals. Really tasty, great NC style BBQ sauce, and the portions felt very reasonable... for the price. I’d call the brisket portion generous. The only down side is that I can walk there - I have fear for mywaistline Read more

They shouldn\'t have left \"delicious\" out of their name. Freaking BBQ has an awesome, delicious eastern North Carolina style... pulled pork BBQ that is very hard to find in this area - let alone this tasty. On top of it all, it\'s locally owned and run bya nephew and uncle team. Both of them were very nice and took the time to chat. I\'ll be going out of way to stop and eat in thefuture. Read more

Fried fish, ribs, beans and greens were amazing. Stopped in for lunch with kids on our way from DC to Charlotte. Fast and fresh,... and the family running the place is a joy. Definitely coming back. Read more

My husband and I found Freakin\' BBQ while we were driving home from the OBX. Everything was fantastic!\nWhen we first walked... in, everything smelled just right (IYKYK), AND there\'s a custom wood-fired offset smoker out back with a big pile of firewood,AND the owner is a second generation pitmaster AND he\'s from Eastern NC. That\'s when you know it\'s gonna be GOOD!\nWe orderedthe pulled pork sandwich, mac N cheese, baked beans, ribs, collards, and potato salad.\nPulled pork was cooked perfectly anddone Eastern NC style where it\'s mixed with vinegar sauce before being served. Ribs were cooked just right- tender but not falloff the bone- and with a tasty dry rub that didn\'t need any sauce (although the sauce that came with our meal was the perfectbalance of vinegar/tomato/spicy/sweet/tangy and I loved it on the ribs!). All of the sides were cooked very well and were tasty-the collards were sweeter than I am used to but I still enjoyed them. Plus the potato salad was JUST RIGHT!\nLast, everyone whoworked there was so nice to us- the owner even brought us a slice of brisket to try and it was (no surprise) delicious and Iusually don\'t even like brisket. It seemed like they knew everyone who came in the door and they had a steady stream of takeoutorders during the 45 minutes it took us to eat our meal.\nThis is the best BBQ I\'ve had in a LONG time, and it\'s extremelyrare to find a BBQ restaurant that can do fabulous pulled pork AND ribs AND brisket. I live in the DC area and can\'t wait toget back to Richmond so I can come here again! Read more

Awesome bbq! As a North Carolina native It\'s so hard to find any in Virginia that holds a candle to what I grew up with. The... pulled pork here is delicious eastern NC style with just the right amount of vinegar sauce mixed in, and makes for a sandwichthat is just right. The chef let us try a sample of the brisket and it was cooked perfectly with a tasty black pepper rub. Everyone there was so nice too. Definitely earned a \"favorite\" on my map! Read more

Good food, great service!! I would recommend the brisket, and most definitely the FISH!!! The sweet potato pie and the lemon pie... are top notch!! But to be honest overall the SERVICE is what would make me comeback. They are very attentive, friendly, andgenerous. Read more

Pulled pork and brisket are so perfectly seasoned you don\'t need sauce. Brisket is so moist and tender. Absolutely incredible.... Best BBQ I\'ve had in RVA. Don\'t sleep on this place. Beautiful people making beautifully bomb food!! Read more
