Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food. I got the rockfish and it was nothing short of perfect. It does have a bit of... spice for those unable to handle it. The chef personally came out to check and see how we thought of the food. Such a greatexperience and refreshing to try something different. It is expensive, but well worth it. This one is the definition of you getwhat you pay for in the best way. Go here, you won't regret it. Read more

Went here this past Saturday with a bunch of friends. The food was delicious and VERY well spiced (not hot, just... flavorful.) Paul took care of us that evening and he was great (I was going to sub out the couscous from my peri peri chicken -he recommended against that saying that the couscous was great - I'm so glad that he did... yes, it was great.) Paul, you wereso nice and everyone enjoyed the experience! Aside from the chicken, others ordered the durban swordfish and duck two ways -all enjoyed! Cocktails were also fun and delicious. Really enjoyed the food and the service. Interesting, unique concept andthe staff was very nice with a fun vibe. I wish we took more pictures of the food! Read more

Pros Great fusion spot. Creative dish titles. And a glossary on the back is an awesome touch. The atmosphere is great. Simba our... server was very friendly and warm. They also have a great Afrobeats playlist. As a Nigerian I was loving that. The appetizers wehad were great, so full of flavor. We ordered the Curry Potato Kugel Croquettes, Ghanaian Peanut Soup and fried plantains. TheCocktail Osun's potion was delicious. Cons We weren't as impressed with lunch. It was disappointing. Firstly, it took a longtime for us to get our lunch as opposed to the appetizers. They were not that busy nor full. But when it came down to the Lunchentrees menu, it was mostly sandwiches. I hoping for more offerings but that is not too bad. However the lunch wasn't as good. Iordered the Aw Jew Chicken sandwich because I was told by our waiter it was cheesy. But when it came out it had no cheese on itand was blander than bland. It came with motza ball soup that was just plain broth with no motza balls. It tasted like nothing.Dishwater has more flavor that that soup did. Fries were fine. If my friend didn't share her lamb shawarma wrap with me I wouldhave sent the whole plate back to the kitchen. My other friend order the Cowpea Falafel wrap and said she couldn't taste thefalafel. At the end the waiter got confused and had to redo our checks like 3 times. He was new so I don't hold that againstthem. Overall It's mixed review for this spot. The first half of the the visit started with a bang. The second half was a sharpcontrast to the first course and the beginning of our experience. It's a nice place with potential. Perhaps it was an odd day.We decided we would try them again another time but for dinner to see if that is better. I would say give it a shot. Some of thefood was really good. Read more

I had I hopes and expectations for this first visit. Our server Kait was professional and friendly. Ask for her when you visit... because even with our difficulties, she made the most of the evening. The cocktails were interesting twists on familiar classicslike a daiquiri and margarita. Our group tried the seasonal challah appetizer because the regular version was not available, butlater that evening, an adjacent table received that version. I ordered the gnocchi main dish. It arrived later than the othersin our small group and looked different than another one that arrived in the original plating. Mine was doughy. Kait quicklyordered another from the kitchen. The manager returned with a new dish later, yet these were the same consistency. He offered toreplace the dish, but the rest of the group had finished eating. He did remove the charge from the bill without my asking. Theother three dishes were tasty according to my friends. Despite the kitchen's mistakes, the front of the house and managementmade the visit. I will return to give it another chance. Read more

It's a really cool restaurant and the clientele is quite diverse. The restaurant is a mix a marriage between African and Jewish... culture, the Continent. And it's not culture she would expect to blend so well but they really do. They had fun and interestingdrinks and really good food. To be honest I like the vegetables matter better than I like the proteins. My friend had the pilipili chicken and it was almost too hot for him to eat. It is not a cheap night out! Read more

JewFro seeks to tell a story of cultural fusion - and if they can work out some technical kinks, this story will be one worth... telling. I’ve had bad fusion before. Dishes that run on gimmick and novelty but fail to actually blend flavors well. Not thecase here! The cons can be summed up in this: style over function. Eclectic, mid century modern decor with a funky vibe thateven translated to the bathroom, with its pink tile and miniature gold trash can - with no room for trash! Paper towels litteredthe otherwise decorative floor. Like most restaurants, they seemed understaffed. Our 7:45 reservation was greeted with a thirtyminute wait for the main upstairs dining area, so we settled into the more boisterous downstairs. This didn't ruin our night byany means, but they should work out their reservation system so that people expecting a seamless sit-down experience aren’tleft waiting around! No complaints about the food whatsoever. Masterfully blended, unique flavor combinations that were justfamiliar enough to remind us of comfort food. The Peri peri chicken was spicy, but with a slow, warming heat that grew overtime. The tender couscous with crispy bits stole the show, while the plantains were perfectly sweet, spiced, and savory. Tofinish, moist, delicately spiced chocolate cake. Delicious. Overall, it was unique, flavorful experience with kinks of a newrestaurant that continues to find its footing. Read more

Awesome spot! A very interesting fusion place. Everything we had was flavorful and awesome. Many of the seasonings and palate... were different from what you usually encounter in the US, so it was very unique and delicious. They strive to make everything inhouse. The building is cool too - a big spiral staircase to the upstairs. Read more

I really wanted to love this place- such an original concept and the environment was top notch. It’s relaxing, elevated,... airy… but the food just wasn’t great. People seem to love the pumpkin pierogis in these reviews but we found them a bitgreasy with way too thick dough. The Israeli salad lacked flavor- it needed a vinegar. The falafel was a little dry. My favoritething we tried was the plantains- delicious and gooey with just enough spice to balance the sweet. Service was great! I may goback again- probably to try the coffee and pastries. Read more
