Reviews for Maya in Richmond, VA
Fajitas are not worth it. $20 for an entire onion and like half of a pepper. They forgot the guacamole and crema, and l also... asked for no beans. Definitely a place for professionals to go to happy hour, not for fajitas. Read more
Fantastic! Service was excellent! Drinks well made. Did not have the one dark Mexican beer my husband wanted. Atmosphere was... cool. Food very tasty and just what we wanted before a show. Can't wait to return. Caroline was one of our bartenders. Thegentleman never introduced himself and was not quite as interactive but made a good Maria's Margarita. Read more
I've given this place the benefit of the doubt several times over the years but at the end of the day: it's a reasonable place... for happy hour apps and drinks, maybe. Tonight's bone-in-chicken enchiladas were the final nail in the "nowhere near the pricethey charge" verdict. That said, the staff is great. A lot of potential, just hasn't yet been realized. Really great place. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great drink selection, friendly service, laid-back atmosphere. At... first I was a little disappointed at the speed of food delivery but it is really fresh and great tasting. A must stop. Read more
Fabulous restaurant with great food, atmosphere and staff! I have been here a couple of times and both ties very much liked the... food and the menu. As someone who has lived in San Diego for a while I have had a lot of Latin American food items and thesewere very unique and delicious. I will say that they also had some very healthy options. First time for brunch I had a veggiefajitas plate which was off the charts delicious. It came with an iron pan of veggies and a separate plate with beans, rice andfresh tortillas..amazing!!! They baked in an oven and fried the veggies -- served up a way I had not had them before...supergood! Four of my friends also joined me and they also got respective dishes (not vegetarian) and also enjoyed them. Hand mademargaritas and several versions including a jalapeno margarita were also unique and tasty. The staff (Jamal on the first visit,Ben on the second and all other staff) were professional, friendly and accommodating since I do request a lot of side items andwater etc...Everyone thanked us for coming in and were very gracious. Last night we went back and once again the large openatmosphere with a very nice bar area set off the mood for a good time. last night I had the street corn which was awesome andthe queso fundito (hold the chorizo please:-) and Farmer Taco's. All of these items also were delicious. The Farmer Tacos wereall fresh locally sourced veggies with a great cream sauce. I know this is an owner run operation and would suggest getting somemore vegetarian options on there to choose from or making the veggie fajitas a regular menu item. I am happy with all of theitems so far but the veggie options are a bit limited when it comes to entrees. Mr. Ben out waiter last night did a great jobchecking up on us and we left again happy and very satisfied with everything. Good place for Sunday brunch or getting out andgoing into downtown. There is a large parking lot (paid parking) right next store so parking is easy i Read more
Don't waste your time and money coming to this place! Outrageously over priced, service is atrocious, food is mediocre at best,... barely anything to choose from on the menu. Portions are TINY. Good service to their customers is not a priority at this place. For being as overpriced as they are one would think that the service and the quality of their food is exceptional but that isnot even close to being the case. They even charge for something as customary as chips, which is something that is free in everyother Mexican restaurant where the price for the food is a fraction of what they charge at this restaurant for mediocre food. The parking around the area where this place is located is a nightmare. After having driven around in circles trying to findparking I was looking forward to try this place out only to have dealt with such unpleasant experience. Certainly wasn't worthmy time and money. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Read more
Went here after our flight back from the holidays. The place wasn’t busy as I wasn’t expecting it to be with the time we... went. 8:30PM. The ambiance was really nice and very clean. Staff was extremely attentive and informative. We got the flauta asan appetizer along with the octopus , honestly the octopus wasn’t season well and it was slimy we ate some of it but itwasn’t very good. Salmon and the arroz a lambada. It was all very very good! Recommend and we will be back Read more
Came here around 1:30pm on 10/8, finally posting a review. Sat at the bar and started off with a cocktail which name I cannot... remember. "Kentucky something". It was a tropical style cocktail made with bourbon, which is pretty unique and was prettydelicious! Bartender was super friendly, even if she judged my cocktail choices ???? Food was also really good, got theseKorean tacos with pork belly and kimchi rice. I really, really liked the kimchi rice and regret filling up on the tacos first. Read more
