Burgers had a strange gas taste and one of them looked like they had been bitten off in several places. We Never send food back... at a restaurant. Never. We had to send this back! It had a strong chemical smell! . The food was absolutely terrible. It lookslike the only reason that people go here is for the alcohol because everyone had a drink in their hand but nobody was eatingexcept us. They were all out of crab and 3 dishes on the menu have crab so what another disappointment. Also an appetizer Irequested was Also out so We settled on what was available. And both had a strange taste and not good and tasted stale. It?s notlike it was even late and they were just out of things. It was 3 hours before closing time. It was like going to the ?going outof business sale? of a restaurant and u get the leftovers. This was one of the worse restaurant experiences. Actually it is theworse. My most recent visit wasn't a pleasant one. I hadn't been here in a couple years due to a job change. I'm assuming they are... short staffed but when we got there, we were immediately sat down but they told us they didn't know who was supposed to wait onour table. Eventually a lady came and took our drinks but came back with our drinks and said she wouldn't be taking our foodorder. The bartender ended up taking our order which was fine. They were out of crab so I was a little sad about that but thatdoesn't reflect my rating. I gave 3/5 stars because I asked for a drink refill BEFORE our food came, never received one. Thenasked the different gentleman who brought my food out for a refill, still didn't get one. The next time we even saw a worker wasAFTER we finished eating. The bartender came back over and asked us how our food was. I asked for a drink to go and for thecheck. He didn't come back for another 10-15 mins with the check and my refill. Overall the food was good but the service wasn'tup to par. Hopefully this was just a short staffed issue and not a permanent one. Read more
Food is fresh and excellent. Staff is wonderful. I wish they'd bring weekend brunch back, but I understand the staffing issues... right now. My only complaint is their online presence is all but gone, so you can never really know when they're open or closed(Google hours are NOT right). Read more
The food and service here is phenomenal. The half salad is giant, can't imagine what a whole salad looks like. This place us... unassuming as you walk up but has a classic old richmond appeal when you get inside. You need to give this place a stop forlunch if your in the Northside. Read more
This was our first visit and we went around lunchtime. I ordered the steak quesadilla which had way too much gristle and... overcooked. Lacked flavor, spices. My husband had the sausage and pepper quiche with a side of potato salad. That was a winner!He thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great and very friendly service. Read more
My husband and I just came across this place on Labor Day. We went to a different place to eat only to find it closed. So we... tried here because we saw it on our drive and decided to check it out. Bonus points for being open on a holiday! When you walkin it looks like a cozy local neighborhood type of pub. Low lighting inside with a bar in the middle and booths all around. Theservice was friendly and helpful. It was also a laid back environment. The best part is that the food was delicious. They had apork chop special with mashed potatoes and gravy that my husband has been telling everyone about. I had a Western Burger thatwas very delicious! The burger was cooked the way I asked and it was juicy. The way a burger should be. I also got sweet potatofries for my side. Most places charge extra for those, but this place doesn't! How refreshing. Craft beer is on sight on draft,bottle, and can. Pepsi products are also here and there's good carbonation! We were so full that we didn't have room fordessert, but they looked good! Great food and atmosphere. Obviously a beloved local establishment. Service would be better with full staffing.
