The best place for their almond meringue cake. We ordered the Hazelnut recently. And today ordered the mango meringue. I would... echo other reviews and say the hazelnut is toooo sweet. 2022 April 4? Came here this time specifically for their meringue cakes. Last time was good and so was this time. Though the... cream could be a bit lighter. Very crispy and not too sweet. Had the mixed fruit merengue cake and was good. Prices arefair. Would come back for more. 2021 Spring. Somewhere between 3.5? and 4? ... This place isn't bad. The seating area is quitelarge and comfortable. The food is pretty decent. The food combo is well priced. $17 to $19 for a soup, main, cake andcoffee/tea. Portions are decent too. Worth the visit. My family's go-to place for our birthday cakes, recently tried the hazelnut mocha cake, a bit too sweet for me, but the meringue... cakes we had before were lovely. Will be back to try the others and would love to try the food/courses as well sometime. A bitpricey but not too bad. Read more
This got to be the worst cake I have ever had. Their cake used to be good but not anymore, so don't expect the same. The... decoration is very old school and amateur. The cake is very unprofessionally made. The cake is dead sweet, can't taste anynatural fruit just unpleasant sweetness and artificial flavour. The after taste is so bad, really question what they put to makeit. The cake looks deformed and cheap, not willing to decorate with fruits except 1/4 of a strawberry. Also, the mousse is madepoorly and uneven within the cake. The sponge cake is so dense and moist. When I press on the sponge cake, it is soaked inoil/butter. Idk if it's because they switch owners but this is unexceptable. Just don't waste money on their fruit/ sponge cake.I feel like whoever made this cake just doing this for fun. Read more
Lunch special: soup of the day + main + cake of the day + coffee/tea for $17-21 before tax and tip. Cleanliness: They take it... seriously. We noticed theseats were still a bit wet from the strong alcohol they used - could even smell how strong thedisinfectants were. Tables properly distanced and way better than a number of establishments I've been to so far. Soup of theDay: Typical tomato vegetable that you see at other western asian establishments but not as diluted. Concentrated tomato basewith fresh baguette bread was a huge plus. Curry Beef with Wild Rice: Wasn't spicy but good flavor, tender, and generousportions. The rice was actually quite good! Baked Ox Tongue with Tomato Sauce: Concentrated tomato flavor with a lot of oxtongue - again generous with their portions here. While the sauce to noodle ratio was on the high side, I'd much prefer thatinstead of having less sauce. Cake: Forgot how good their cakes were. Presentation wise average but there's subtle flavoring inthe cakes that make it more than just a chocolate or strawberry cake. Got the daily cake of the day here but if you want toupgrade to another cake, there's an extra charge. Service: Yes you pay the 12% for dine in service but in my opinion, it wasworth it. Family style decoration, inside is rather dark and outside has signs all over the door. I went here for cake and haven?t tried... to dine in for other food items, so this review is only heading on their famous strawberry cake. Got the 10? for $40. It?s notoverly sweet and has some almond for added crunchiness. Most of the people enjoyed the cake! The only thing I?d like to seesome improvements is customer service. I was standing at the door for awhile and no one greeted me. And when I asked for whatkind of cake choices available, I was told rudely that it was closed to closing time, what else do you expect?
