It was okay. The service was fine but wasn't amazing. the quality of fish was okay. Some pieces were a bit watery such as... hamachi and Toro sashimi. The amaebi could have been sweeter. The noodle soup provided at the end was horrible. It was piiipinghot and didn't taste good. That dish didn't make any sense to be honest. Flavors overall arent as refined and balanced as otheromakase I've been to. Value is okay. Read more

The sushi set lunch is delicious. The ratio of rice and vinegar is just perfect. The texture of rice is chewy and soft. The fish... is fresh and tasty. Read more

The food was delicious, but it was definitely pricey for what you get. If that's not an obstacle for you, then this is a nice... selection of sushi, sashimi, and hot dishes. Read more

Budget-friendly omakase in a quaint restaurant. Chef is Japanese and sashimi were fresh. Note that this is an entry-level... omakase, ordered Tsukidashi course $70 and Toshi course $90. Flavour was good for this price. If you expect extravagant serviceor menu items, please pay $100 more and go somewhere else. Read more

Honestly I was quite disappointed with the food and service quality here. Obviously you can't compare Toshi Ryoriten to... restaurants like Yasu (which is amazing) in downtown, as these belong in different price tiers of Omakase. That being said, there should be some sort of expectation when you're paying 90 plus for a course. And unfortunately it really does fall short interms of what I expected. First of all, the nigiri was really not anything to boast about. The selection was ok. The worst partwas that 30% of most individual nigiri pieces consisted of overpowering wasabi. I understand that it is conventional to addwasabi to nigiri pieces and I probably had the option to remove wasabi completely. However, usually in other Omakaserestaurants; the chefs only put a touch of wasabi to complement the natural flavours of fish. Not the overpowering wasabi tasteI experienced the other night there. I do have to give credit where it is due, the duck liver nigiri piece was really good, flavours were on point but that's about the only highlight of the night. Other appetizers were really just overpriced items, nothing special. Service on the other hand was mediocre at best. Don't want to get into details but let's just say I didn'tfeel the customer service quality, especially this type of restaurant. Felt like some HK cafe waitresses give betterservices. All in all, if you want a low entry point of Omakase experience, go for it. But personally I would rather dish out anextra 100-200 and try other higher end spots. As the complexity of flavours and customer services of those restaurants are milesahead of Toshi Ryoriten. Or if you wanna eat tasty budget sushi, there are plenty of other options. Very satisfied with the service and food, but I and my husband started diarrhea two and a half hours after the meal. I had... gastrointestinal discomfort an hour and a half after eating. I thought it was my personal problem. But if two people havediarrhea, it must be the reason for this restaurant. We did not eat in the afternoon, and we have not eaten any other foodexcept this restaurant. It may be that the raw materials appeared today, but we are very dissatisfied with this place . We wouldgo back to eat it again, but I will definitely not go in the future. Read more

This is one of the few restaurants that offer omakase in this neck of the woods. I came here to celebrate a special occasion and... ordered their Toshi course. If you've never had omakase this would be a good first experience but for the more seasoned eatersthis place doesn't match the standards to the others in the city. If it's you're first time definitely try to snag a spot at thebar for the full experience. The bar itself is limited on seating (6 seats) and they only let 4 people sit there at a time tomaintain physical distancing. When we first ordered drinks we were surprised how they didn't have a few of the beers on theirmenu considering it was only the beginning of dinner service. During the meal I found the sushi to be quite inconsistent interms of how much wasabi was added to each piece. Some definitely had way too much than others, also I felt the rice was a tadunderseasoned. I was also hoping to see uni offered as one of the sushi pieces but was disappointed when it was left out. Thatdoesn't go to say they don't have it on their menu, so if you're still feeling hungry you could order it as an add-on. Servicewas good and attentive and we didn't feel rushed during the meal. We managed to finish just within the 2 hour time limit despitearriving a little late. Overall I'd recommend shelling a few extra bucks for a nicer experience but if you're in a pinch thisplace really serves a good value meal. Read more
