Placed looked great online and was very excited to try it out. Server was super nice when the meal started off and appetizers... came super quick and was good…things started going down hill. Main course took forever to come out, like an hour. 2 of thefish dishes were raw and had to be sent back. Server got a little testy that that looks cooked until we showed him that it wasraw. The vegetables on a third dish was sent back because they were not cooked and the chicken it was served with was way overcooked. We finished and you would think someone would come out and apologize, but no, seemed like they do not have their acttogether. We went to dinner here and it ruined my night! My husband and I went out looking for a good night and some nice food, my only... concern when going out is that I am allergic to tomatoes. After asking the waiter to make sure to remove the tomatoes, that wasnot done even when I repeated it three times. After informing the workers nicely about the situation, I got attitude in return.Everyone can make mistakes but when the second dish had the same problem the waiter rudely replied by saying "what do you wantme to do about it?". He kept making excuses, blaming the kitchen and not remotely being close to apologizing sinisterly. Forpaying a bill over $200 I would expect better service in a more civil manner. The service was excellent and food was delicious. This restaurant is BYOB so keep that in mind when coming in. Parking is easily... accessible on the street. And reservation through Google was quick and painless. Read more

A fine dining restaurant in Ridgewood, serving delicious food with impeccable presentation and taste. We made our reservation... ahead for Sunday dinner. When we arrived, we got seated right away. The restaurant wasn’t busy, as only 3 other tables wereoccupied. Due to Covid their menu is online. It’s a concise list with limited items in appetizers, entrees and desserts. Wedecided to try the Octopus appetizer, Bronzini and Seafood dishes for entree. The prep time was excellent , as we didn’t haveto wait long at all to get our food. We were very impressed with delicate presentation of each dish. All items includingvegetables were cooked to perfection. Cafe 37 is a New American restaurant with a Spanish Flair. The restaurant is small inside, but they have a larger outside... dining area. The owner is the chef, and those are usually the best restaurants to dine at. All the ingredients the chef usesare top notch. Portions are nice sizes too besides the desserts being rather small. Stand out and must try dishes are thegoat cheese raviolis, truffle risotto, and the halibut over saffron rice. All those dishes were AMAZING! You must try them! Halibut is a hard fish to prepare, and when a chef can cook an outstanding halibut you know it’s a 5 star restaurant! Otherdishes I tried was the crab cake which was excellent! The filet mignon with shrimp was very good! The chicken dish was good! Only one entree I didn’t care for or wouldn’t recommend ordering is the Cafe 37 Frutti di Mare. The pasta wasn’t freshmade and kinda mushy and flavor wise it just was ok. I’d take it off the menu and replace it with something else. Itdidn’t have the WOW factor as all the other dishes on the menu had. All the desserts are house made and my favorite is thebread pudding! It’s fantastic! That’s another dish that’s hard to get right, but the chef here made it to perfection!The only complaint is it’s much too small. Its should be served twice the current serving size. The other dessert I triedwere the coconut profiteroles. I didn’t care much for it, and I wouldn’t order it again. I really enjoyed almosteverything here, and I am very impressed with the food!
