Drinks were excellent. I had the old fashion and my wife had a margarita. Both had strong pour. I had the short rib grilled... cheese. It was excellent combination of meat, cheese and onion which gave it a sweetness, A+. The fries were also nicely done,just not enough of them. They had live music. Went for a girl friends birthday brunch . Had salmon avocado toast and bean burger / chocolate mouse . Everything was delicious.... The place has good energy . Servers are polite .. parking in ridgewood always sucks but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Igo there often and will go back soon . Read more
This place was great. We were unfamiliar with the area but looking for somewhere nearby to grab dinner and saw reviews for this... place and tried it out. Anyways...did not disappoint!! The Wagyu burger was on point!! And the live music was great...butmostly the service and staff blew us away. The girls at the desk were super welcoming and engaging...we were gonna have to waitso we considered going somewhere else cause we had 4 young kids with us...but it was such good vibes we stuck around. And ourserver Becky was amazing. I really like to know what people think is great on the menu and Becky had an opinion for everythingI asked. It drives me crazy when I ask what's the most delicious thing and the waiter asks me what I'm in the mood for...Isimply want the most delicious thing! And Becky was clearly informed about the menu, had tried most things it seemed (well donemanagement making sure your staff has tried the menu!) was attentive, patient, lovely. Steel wheel is an excellent spot, the drinks and food alike are always very tasty! My party of 3 were able to get a table... outside with no wait on a Friday night and everything was great. The service was not the best (compared to other times I’vebeen there) but everything came out quickly and above expectations. Read more
The first time I was there, we took my father out for Father's Day brunch. ... with my father, my grandmother, brother, sis in... law & 3 nephews. I must say, the food was excellent! Everyone loved what they ordered & we also were extremely happy with theservice! Our waitress was kind, helpful, friendly & attentive. Even the bus boys & host were very cool. They were very friendlyto my nephews & also helped if we needed something. There was also a musician there playing songs, but wasn't so loud where wecouldn't hear each other speak. He was pretty cool too. We loved the atmosphere & we're definitely going back! I am, for sure! Ilove that there's entertainment every day & night & that they have Happy Hour as well. My father lives in Yonkers & all he wastalking about was how he was going to go back to try their steak & enjoy the environment. So, he called me during that next week& told me he was going to the Steel Wheel with a couple of his friends! (And my father despises driving to Jersey, as he remindsus every time he comes out here lol) But, I was very surprised & happy that he went out & did something different from his sameold routine. He said he loved it, the food was great, everyone else loved their food as well & he's going back again! Thank youto the awesome staff, the amazing chefs & just the overall atmosphere. I can honestly say that my father only comes out here tosee us, his family, but now he's coming out to go hang out at the Steel Wheel Tavern! I love that! It’s very nice to grab an outdoor seat and enjoy good selections of beer with great burgers here on a less crowded day. I... rarely find places that make great fries. But I’d always come for the fries and burgers here! Especially the potatoes they usefor their fries are so fresh and tasty, my partner and I always wonder about why is there such a big difference between thefries here and those we had elsewhere. First time here since it became the Steel Wheel Tavern… so glad we tried it. The calamari was melt-in-the-mouth and honestly... better than many ‘fine dining’ restaurants. I took a chance with the crab cake and was very impressed… lots of crab. TheWaygu burger was very flavorful except it would have been better with one thick patty rather than 2 thin ones because theoutside was a little dry. The sweet potato fries were unsurpassed. Nice local bar and live music spot. Great service, good food, really good dessert (surprise) for a bar. Good fish and chips.
