Good service and great ambiance but if you are a land lover, the food is only fair. Everyone loved the seafood. My chicken parm... was good but the pasta and sauce was horrible. The same sauce is on the chicken parm, but the chicken is so good it didn't seembad. For the price, I would hope for a better marinara. Service and everything else was good, dessert even better. Menz is a really interesting dive. Delicious food with generous portions, although a little more on the pricey side. Curio shop... and hunting lodge vibes mixed with live music and a family-friendly atmosphere. They have a small candy and gift shop which isso adorable. Definately a must-eat for a unique experience! It is part of our family tradition to visit Menz while we come to Cape May for vacation and they never disappoint. They have a... great selection of seafood, dinner specials, drink specials and a good selection of surf and turf items. My personal favorite isthe broiled crab imperial stuffed flounder, absolutely delicious! Make sure to make a reservation, they are incredibly busy fordinners. They have a quaint little gift shop with 10 cent candy, talk about a blast from the past. The decor is unique and Ican't recommend it enough; visit Menz for a great family dinner! Read more
Friends recommended this place. After looking through their website, I knew I would enjoy this family oriented establishment. ... The menu offered a really nice selection. The service was great! We were so hungry and the order was served quickly and EVERYTHING ordered was beautifully plated and tasted amazing! They even made the, unpopular yet very flavorful, Apricot Sour drink mysister-in-law asked for. Such a great place for dinner! Love the little shop and the eclectic decorations throughout therestaurant. Would highly recommend. It is well worth the wait! Read more
Driven past this place a million times and always wanted to stop. I was not let down at all the food was delicious I had a bacon... Mac n cheese burger. The decor was really cool also. I'll definitely be returning. Read more
Great food as always but they are very shorthanded due to the effects of covid. They shouldn't be seating the whole restaurant... as a result as that leads to waitstaff and customer frustration. We were there for 3 hours for dinner! We expect a wait for atable on Labor day weekend so we spent the hour enjoying sangria at the bar. Then when we got a table, it took a half hour toeven be greeted by our waitress! Good thing we already had our drink from the bar. Waitress had a couple of big tables and wasstressed and overwhelmed. She was practically in tears talking to us twice about the lack of staff and having to bus her owntables too. Food was outstanding ad always so there was no change in quality. We had our favorite scallops with bacon andhorseradish sauce. Delicious. Husband had the crab chowder to start. Recommend for dinner but don't expect it to be quick rightnow !! Glad we didn't have plans to go to Cape May afterwards or all the shops would have been closing up! Read more
Excellent food and so close to a 5 star review from me! Firstly, the service was on point. Our server was great and even though... our meal was delayed she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Without a doubt 5 stars for service! Ireally enjoyed the clams, both the steamers and casino appetizer were great. I only wish I asked for more bread with thesteamers because the sauce was amazing. Others in my party also enjoyed their soups. When picking a main I made sure to stickwith something that was locally sourced (for freshness) and I was not let down. I had the sword and it was excellent. It tastedfresh, was cooked perfectly and again the sauce was amazing. My GF ended up dipping her food into my sauce so that sayssomething! Everyone who picked an entree that was sourced/caught locally was impressed. I enjoyed my beer and everything Iordered I would get again. The two things that were not really that impressive were the calamari and fried fish sandwich, bothwere bland. The calamari was chewy and the fried fish tasted as though it was frozen. It was a great portion and if you aren'tthat into seafood but still want to get something to kind of pretend you are it's an incredibly basic option that nearly anyonecould eat (especially since it's fried) but that's all. I always enjoy this restaurant. They have a good selection of dinners, of all kinds, seafood and meats. I favor the sea scallops... with bacon and a mild horse radish sauce. The service is always good. I've been there with 4 to 6 total in my party at times andeveryone liked it. We try to get reservations around 5pm. There's plenty of room but it does get busy quickly. There are someunusual things to see there, while waiting or after eating. There's also a novel treat for kids: after dinner they get to selecta take home bag of various candies in the candy shop.
