Reviews for The Birchwood of Polish Town in Riverhead, NY
What can you say. This is old school Polish Town - Riverhead, NY. It?s been around for decades. Staff is super friendly and... welcoming. I had the kielbasa and sauerkraut on rye with polish mustard. Really just awesome and reminds me of growing up onthe North Fork of Long Island, where most people were descendants of Poland and Ireland. Mostly farming. You should check itout if you?re in the neighborhood. You can always go to Applebees or another chain anytime anywhere. Try it. I think you?lllike it. Sauerkraut Read more
Food was decent, French onion was large and tasty. However the staff wasn?t that friendly and the prices on their website were... wrong and outdated so beware. This is definitely a locals place and if you?re not a regular, you do not feel welcome at all.Wasn?t given utensils for a to-go order and everything was crammed into one tray. Read more

Very disappointing. I normally enjoy going here with my family and getting the peroegie dinner but during our last two visits... the restaurant had a bad smell upon entering. Smelled like pee....not sure if the carpets or the cushions need to be cleanedand the dinner wasn't up to their normal standards. Won't be going back anytime soon. Read more

Service was great, from the moment we stepped in to the minute we got up to leave. Space was well prepared for covid... restrictions also bright and clean. They have a very extensive menu but we opted for their specials... They had very uniquedish that I've only had homemade... Meatballs in this rich thick ginger snap silesian sauce... It's a regional delicacy eaten inthe Eastern parts of Germany (Silesia) that became part of Poland after 1945. Sadly this dish did not compare and I was sooohoping it would :/. However everything else we tried was delicious, their pierogi's were phenomenal as well as the creamy cremebrulee. We will definitely give this place another try and be back to try more things on their regular menu. Read more
