If you want very good food this is the place you need to try. I was so disappointed by the changes to this new Palenque (or whatever the name) restaurant that I thought I'd offer some... details. If it doesn't convince the owners to find a way to revert back to the old Mezcal by themselves, perhaps my bad reviewwill convince them when guests -- and revenue -- begins to fall. It WILL happen... 1) The place has NONE of the sameambiance. The new ambience doesn't work, because THERE IS NONE. Combine that with a horrible floor plan and bad seatingarrangements. 2) If this place is marketing themselves as upscale, bring me a damned menu. I asked and was told I MUST scanthe QR for it. I guess if I didn't bring my phone I'd have to go someplace else. Just stupid and greedy. 3) I had to ask forchips and salsa? We had 6 people at our table and a single bowl of chips and not refilled. Ya, I know this is a small issue,but the details, man. The details... 4) The food variety: I couldn't tell. I had to see it on my phone. You know how hardit is to actually take in the spirit of a chef by scrolling? I truly don't believe it's the same chef's offering as before. Itlooked like typical Mexican food. Nothing special. At least from what I could tell. (If I had a menu...) 5) The food: NOTHING SPECIAL anymore. What was once Mezcal-awesome is just the same stuff I can get anywhere. If you want Mexican food, youcan find places closer to you than this ... and ... 6) It'll be FAR less expensive elsewhere. In my party, 6 peeps, (4 adultsand 2 kids), 2 cocktails. Over $170. Great place to eat and drink. Fun vibe. The music and the atmosphere is fun. Shout out to Paolo, great service and knows how to... show you a fun time. Food was delicious. Ample portions and the drinks are strong. Highly recommend for a group outing or even anice date. Book a reservation online if you plan on going during peak hours, gets pretty full. I’m disappointed last night the cover was $30 which was full so partly justified but still high Drinks were avg $16-17 and... usually one good drink has me feeling good and 2 real good but I drank 2 like they were water and felt nothing. The drinks and service was great. The food was OK. Our server was very professional and knowledgable of the drinks and menu... items. The food, however, was not worthy of the prices. I would like to give 3 stars than 4! But in some way I thought it is not fair. Overall I can tell drinks here was good but the... food was ok! We ordered chicken and asada tacos chips as starter. Here is good but definitely not very good! They are fast, theyserve you quickly and politely. I liked the staff and of course Margaritas here! And it wasn’t cheap, 107 bucks for two! I had a very pleasant experience here despite the heat. Staff was kind to move us to a table under the shade. They even brought... a dog some water. Very hospitable! The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the portion size of the food. Camilla was anexcellent waitress!!! Owner and managers were also very kind and attentive to their guest. The chocolate sauce for the churroswas fire ????. The chorizo and chilaquiles are a must try. Read more
I'm back and today I had the dine-in experience. I'm impressed! I had the birria tacos and even though I'm wearing the juice on... my shirt, I loved the food. And the mango margaritas are really good too! Sally, Felix and Fred made me feel special today,thank you! I'll definitely be back! Read more
