We were staying in Springfield and were looking for good pizza and Italian food for a family of 5. We found Gallina Pizza on... Google reviews and decided to pay a visit. The place is very unassuming and parking is a bit tight. This said we were veryimpressed by the food. There was one gentleman working who was beyond friendly and had patience as we looked over the menu forseveral minutes. An 18 inch pizza was cooked in about 10 minutes and was done perfectly. We also shared an eggplant andchicken parmesan, both of which were fantastic! The sauce is very tasty and the cheese used is great. Overall, we all highlyrecommend it. it's not a fancy place but these are real Italians. the large calzone is not a single serving deal. this thing is literally a... large pizza folded in half with ricotta and butter sauteed onions that melt in your mouth.
