This is an old fashioned Chinese restaurant that reminds me of the places we went when I was young. The prices are reasonable.... The egg foo young (with brown gravy), chow mein and egg rolls were all very good. The only thing we didn?t like was the orangechicken because it was too sweet and the chicken was chewy. Service was fast, friendly and efficient and the inside of therestaurant was clean. We will be going back. Read more

Wow, what a lunch! My brother has been eating at the Golden Tree Café for 30 years, he says it is one of his favorite places to... go for lunch. If you have lived in the Salt Lake area for many, many years and remember places like South Seas and Kowloon, thisplace reminds me of those restaurants, only better. It could use an update to the decor, but the food is the star, it is tasty,hot and plentiful. The Chicken Chow Mein was the best I?ve had in a long, long time. The Egg Foo Young really hit the spot, ithas a wonderful gravy and just really great consistency and texture. We went with a large group of eight of us for lunch, andour bill for lunch with sodas came to approximately $80 it was a really great value. I am happy we were introduced to GoldenTree Cafe, the service was quick and super friendly. Sorry no photo, I?ll be sure to take one on my next visit. Read more
Absolutely delicious food and the best service! I love the honey chicken #90! Their egg rolls are perfectly crunchy on the... outside and soooo yummy. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant for over 24 years. I recommend 100%!! You won't get betterservice anywhere. Read more
Yikes! This place is the worst Chinese food ever. The food comes out and looks ok but it's just freezer food put in a fryer and... it comes out dry and tasteless. We went here for our "Chinese food on Christmas day" tradition but the fried wonton was the onlyitem that seemed prepped within the past 36 hours. The photos look good but we gave all the many leftovers to someone who tossedthem after tasting them. Even the egg drop soup is strange and a combo of chicken noodle and egg drop. They even have the takeout styrofoam just placed behind seats so you can already load it up without talking to anyone. Other reviews said the womenwere rude, I didn't experience that. But definitely avoid. Terrible! Every bite was so disappointing and you just go "well Ineed to fill my stomach, even if it's dry and tasteless." Places like this cannot exist. Do not give them more money. Let thembe replaced with restaurants that use good quality ingredients! Read more
I thought I would give Golden tree a try again since has been many years. The sweet and sour chicken is just fried pieces of... chicken and add the sauce, no pineapple no peppers nothing else. The ham fried rice is just diced deli ham with white rice withsome sauce i saw on small piece of egg like a sliver. The egg foo young was good. But it is not too pricey but i would not payit again. Maybe great for people who like no extras just meat and sauce. I did take out. Read more
