This was our second time here and it did not disappoint. It was early on Taco Tuesday so not too much of a crowd. Waitstaff was... all friendly, the tableside guacamole was delicious, and drinks tasty. The carnitas are fast becoming a favorite for me. Hubsand friend ordered combo plates, one with all beef, and they said the dishes were really good. The atmosphere and bar areaseemed inviting so after dinner we enjoyed a few more drinks. This place was excellent, it?s a great little restaurant in Roanoke! You kinda walk into this bland looking building and it?s so... cool on the inside! Very modern vibes. The salsa is great! It?s more on the hot side so those who don?t like spice, I wouldavoid, but those like me, I couldn?t stop. We got the ceviche for an app, very good! Healthy portion of shrimp mixed withtomato, avocado, onions? very good! Finally the fajitas were excellent, the refried beans were super flavorful as well. Greatexperience! Gonna do it again! Second time eating at Los Compadres. This is by far the best in regards to restaurants. The food is very fresh and delicious. I... love the brisket tacos. The queso is great. Beans and rice are great. Enchiladas are great. Have not eaten anything here I didnot like and I am a picky eater. Definitely save room for the Flan. It was yummy!! Great, modern feel for Tex Mex. Super clean and spacious. The food really is fresh, as touted--the chips, salsa, tortillas all... homemade and tasty. I had the shrimp tacos, and the beer battered crust crunched so satisfyingly in the soft tortilla. Yum. Andthe borracho beans--a bit spicy and so tasty I took them to go. My good friend and I ate lunch here this past Saturday and had a wonderful meal. Amy was our server; she was so helpful and... friendly. We hope we see her again on our next visit. I really like this spot. The food was great. The queso was good but we ordered spicy and it wasn't. The table salsa was hotter,... but really good. Chips were good but similar to many places. Food was really good and well made, I had the guisada, flavorfuland tender meat. The charro beans were good but simple and the rice was ok Honestly I would have rather had more beans. Nachoswere interesting, each one was made to be a perfect bite and they were flavorful and you got a decent amount but if you areexpecting a plate of nachos all, this isn't it. I'd still recommend it but just be aware. We tried the Aztec Mule and theSangria. The Mule was excellent 100% recommend it. Delicious! The Sangria was very strong and more wine than fruit so if youlike that, then it's a great drink. Service was excellent, tortillas were fresh made and all in all a great experience. Theatmosphere was nice both inside and out. I'd say the price for what you get is decent but other than the drinks I'd say thefood was good but nothing specific stands out. I'll definitely go back and update once I try more dishes. The atmosphere isgreat to meet friends and have drinks and have good food. You won't be disappointed in any of it.
