I've lived in Roanoke for 30+ years and This is the first time we visited Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse and we were pleasantly... surprised. The food and service were very good and very well priced. The variety of patrons was reminiscent of the DMV.Everyone was represented from little babies, to men in suits, old white guys in Bermuda shorts to face tattooed dudes withdreadlocks. Apparently, I've been missing out and everyone knew but me! We'll certainly be back. Read more

I have never been here for hibachi, but their sushi is good. The service is good for how few people they have; they are severely... understaffed but are doing their best. Good selection of beer; excellent selection of weird and rare sake. Read more

I love this restaurant! The chicken and steak are always delicious and cooked properly. It is a bit pricey but the food is good... and I have never had any issues with the service! Read more

This was my favorite restaurant for 14 years. I use to come here every week after work, but sadly it's gone down hill some. My... meal was very overcooked, instead of medium rare I was given well done. Also it tastes like the meat quality is lower than itused to be. For the money I'd rather go to sakuras which is cheaper and has drastically increased in quality and service in thepast 3 years. Don't get me wrong, it's still decent and the service is good. I would come here again but given the choice I'drather go to sakuras on Williamson road. Read more

I fell down a well when I was 12. It was a surprisingly tranquil experience sitting in the Luke warm well water. I returned to... that moment as I entered the building it was divine. From the moment they threw shrimp at me takes me back to the rope beingthrown down to me. This is a special place a rare event to happen in todays time. I felt like a superstar the whole time likeFreddie Mercury pre-aids it was amazing. Thank you so much ichiban staff truly. The food is alright as well. Read more

Never again! We tried hard to support Ichiban during the pandemic but they now feel they can steal from their client base.... Ordered the "love boat" which has 12 sashimi pieces. Per the pic, we got almost nothing, no tuna, no salmon, etc. But a ton ofcarrots and kale . No miso soup as they were out; 50 minutes wait for a pick-up order which was promised in 15 minutes. What ashame. Read more

I love Ichiban, it is worlds better than Kabuki. We have been coming here for years and its cheaper too. It will still cost... about 20$ a person but its a great experience everytime. Keep in mind Thursday is sushi night so remember to call for areservation even during the week. The "Volcano" drink is so yummy and fun! The hibachi shrimp is my absolute favorite but I didenjoy the tuna, that being said I am not a raw or undercooked fish person so I did get it well done. I am sure for an ahi-tunafan they would love it. My friends enjoyed the steak and dumplings. The dumplings were very good from what I tasted and ofcourse their ginger dressing for the salads was so yummy and the soup is always a show stopper! Read more

We have an anniversary coming up when we took in our nieces andnephews from fostercare. Thinking it might be a definite continder. Nice. I highly recommend it. Read more
