Very good tomato pies. We tried both the plain and the Mustard Pie. Surprisingly, the Mustard Pie was quite delicious! The white... pizza that we got, Italian Stallion, was very flavorful. The Sweet and Savory Salad was pretty good although loaded with moretoppings than lettuce. The Caesar Salad was not very good and I am a Caesar Salad connoisseur. Read more
Excellent pizza. First time that we tried Papa?s Tomato Pies. The pizza was excellent. We ordered a regular pizza with some... mushrooms. The pizza was good and had a good crispy crust. Cheese and toppings were delicious. We also ordered the mustard pie.It?s the first time trying a mustard pie but it was pretty good. It reminded me of eating a pretzel with spicy mustard. This past Tuesday, July 5th,. 2020 after the 1st Leg of a Group Motorcycle Ride with Friends, stopped here for one of the Best... Trenton Tomato Pies known to Old School Pizza Enthusiast's. Today's visit was a return one for me, but the "First" for Jerry,Butch and Lou..... We chose the Traditional Large, Large Mustard and a Large Onions, Peppers and Sausage!!! Everyone seemed toenjoy the fantastic thin crispy crust, delicious sweet tomato sauce and the enhanced flavors from the other fresh ingredientsand toppings including the subtle taste of the mustard on the Mustard Pie which also had Papa's tomato sauce on it. The piescreated here at Papa's Tomato Pie are what I base my postings - reviews on since Kit's and my visit back in February 2017 afterbeing reintroduced to this style of pizza by an article written by Peter Genovese of the Star Ledger. This is my favorite pizza place in existence! That mustard pizza was just fantastic. The wings were odd. They were a little... sweet/tangy and crispy. Not a flavor I'm used too but still worth it. I'm going to try to come back one day but 2200 miles fromhome. Thank you for the experience! The only bad thing was getting in and out it took a few minutes but again so worth it. Read more
This place came highly recommended. They were 100% correct. The pizza is one of the best I?ve ever had and that includes the... original Frank Pepe?s. The bruschetta was delicious and the pasta Fagioli was better than most. We had a mustard pie withgarlic, half pepperoni, half sausage. Delicious! The service from Kim was excellent! Read more
We got a half mustard pie with sausage and garlic and half regular with basil. Crispy crust with little chew. Mustard pie side... was best. The garlic was very good and so was the sausage, but wish the sausage bits were a bit smaller as the large chunks felloff. The tomato sauce had good flavor, not sweet or spicy but pleasant tomato taste. Staff was so nice and friendly. Read more
My friend from NJ told me that I'd love it. He was sooo right. Let's go over the important aspects of this ahhhhhhmazing... spot. Service: The staff is friendly & very helpful. They're totally proud of their restaurant & you can feel this in theirservice & food. Pizza: The Italian Stallion is a must get pizza. The ingredients are super fresh & tastes delicious. Themustard pie (what they're famous for) was good but not my jam. I mean... I'd eat it. ???? It was still delicious but next to theItalian Stallion... the Stallion will win 100 times over for me. I just prefer white pizza. So cool things to point out. Thisplace is BYOB which is awesome. It's perfect for a craft beer drinker like me. ???? Grab your favorite beers & dine in. Anotheroption is get the pizza to go & sit outside at their tables out front. They weren't doing outdoor service but this is the workaround they gave people who didn't feel comfortable eating inside. Wonderful jewel of a restaurant! Our server Ruby made an excellent recommendation to add sausage to the mustard--yes, you heard... that right--pizza that we had come to try. It was delicious! So much so that our party of two had none of the large left overto take home. Read more
