Not going here again, the staff were fine, they didn?t seem to be enjoying their jobs but that?s what you get from hiring a... bunch of high schoolers. I had high hopes for this place but was let down. Brisket was tough, the sausage was fair but tastedlike conecuh, you can buy that from any grocery store down here and it probably was conecuh. At a price of $30 with tax for twomeats and two sides I would of like to have at least seen some homemade sausage, portion size was smaller then expected at thatprice point. We had a great time eating dinner with friends. We had 13 people and our server, Andy was a good sport and took good care of us.... Especially when they "ran out" of ribs! We will eat here again. Read more
Only tried the ribs, not very good. I understand that the brisket is the thing here and will come back to try it. Place was... deserted at 12:40 pm on a Thursday...a sign? Absolutely finger-licking good!! I ate it til the bone was bare (as you can see) and that smoke flavor was all the way through... it!! I cannot wait to eat there again!! I was really excited to try this place! The menu has some fantastic concepts! Like the brisket Philly and the brisket sammich... with pimento. That?s what we had- the wife had the pimento, I had the Philly, and we shared some nachos. All of which left usless than impressed. The meat was cooked well- very tender- but no flavor. The bark was tasteless and the sauces just didn?thave enough to carry the load. I feel like this place could be good- just needs to kick it up on the flavor with fresherseasonings and a bit more wood in the Southern Pride smoker. Read more
Excellent BBQ. Did the 5 meat for $25. It was great especially the ribs and the brisket. Sausage was good. It was not cheap.... Also did the pimento sandwich, B+. As for sides, baked beans were exceptional, maybe top 3 all time. Mac and cheese was phonedin a bit. Potato salad was a strong B+. Sauces were good. No utensils or napkins in the togo bag. Their pimento brisket sandwich is divine. I also like the Kahuna brisket sandwich. Their ghost pepper fries are so good. This... place is definitely a hidden gem. It's a small place kind of tucked away in the end of a shopping center but they know what theyare doing. Read more
