Reviews for Kruse & Muer in the Village in Rochester, MI
This is one of downtown Rochester's staples and that's because the small family chain of restaurants has earned it. We tend to... go here to celebrate a family event like a birthday or anniversary but sometimes it works for Sunday family get together too.Great ambience to do it and staff are top notch and attentive. Reservations are best though. For a little more laid backdining, we'll go to their oyster bar across the street or their Paint Creek establishment they also own down the street. Either way, they've got you covered from price and formalness of the occasion with great food. Their "Main" location has themost variety of selection though which is why we use for our family events. Awesome dinner, great service. Our party of 7 had no trouble with making a reservation, and had a great time. Our server was... great. Best bread ever! Awesome suggestions for meal ideas, and everyone was satisfied with their food. All of the meals wereserved at one time. Appetizers were great. Love the location, and the ambiance! We will be back. Their food is delicious and we have been to their other location before. This was our first at this specific location. Some... items were not fresh such as the bread and the salad croutons. Other than that it was nice. The dessert was also not fresh. Read more
Our food was pretty good. It wasn’t hot. After waiting over an hour for our entrees. The waitress brung our food and then she... let us know it had fell on the floor and had to be remade. I was confused as to why she didn’t advise of this beforehand. Imay have to come back again to see if I get better service. I only took pictures of our appetizer because we were ready to go bythe time the food came. Read more
Upon initial entrance, we were impressed. The atmosphere was decent, the hostesses were warm and welcoming. Once we were sat,... our experience was slightly different than expectations. Our server mumbled under his breath at us to the point where wecouldn't hear what he was saying. His speech was really slow, and we had to hold his hand through the entire dining process. He never brought us refills, took forever to respond to the table, and genuinely seemed disinterested. Our food was okay atbest. The portions were below average for American standard, but it was cooked. My plate had significant water in the bottomof it and my friends dish was bland. This place has a lot of potential, but could use a bit more care. Was it awful? No. Would I recommend it or return? Also no. Read more
First of all, the food was absolutely delicious. We got the stuffed chicken(forgot the dishes name) the appetizer crab cakes,... and the stuffed mushrooms. It was all wonderfully prepared. Second, and more importantly, Josh provided us with EXCELLENTservice. He was attentive and kind throughout the process of dinner. We will definitely be returning, and we will definitelyrequest Josh. Great service. Food - meh. Now I remember why we haven't been there in 10 years.
Last night I ordered the "Flavors of Fall" dinner special called Autumn Grilled Salmon. It was a masterpiece and so delicious!! ... The salmon came on top of a bed of grilled gnocchi, diced sweet potatoes and corn with a brown butter cream in a circle liningthe rim of the plate. The taste was heavenly!! The dish had 7-8 large gnocchi that were firm with a potato & chewy cheesetexture. They were so good I had to stop talking on those bites because it was such an amazing taste. This dish was spectacular. It is worthy of being featured on a magazine cover with a full article describing its preparation. Kudos to the chef who createdthis wonder!! Read more
