A nice fancy restaurant with excellent food and dessert. The only thing that surprised me is that entrées didn't come with a... side salad or soup. Otherwise, the food was delicious and worth trying. Very good food, nice atmosphere, but service level was below expectations and not supportive of the high menu prices. My wife... and I had dinner here last night along with 6 friends. Nice atmosphere. Band playing, not too loud as per some other reviews, atleast where we were sitting. Very good food, but server was inattentive. When you?re spending ~$100 per person on a meal anddrinks, you expect the service to be above average. Service last night was no better than a typical fast/casual restaurant andactually worse than some of the local pubs. First drink and food order was taken ok, but then server disappeared. Had to chasehim down to order more drinks. This is frustrating to me for two reasons. First, when menu prices are this high, I expect partof that should be reflected in the level of service, which it was not, so from that perspective, the place was too pricey.Second, as a business person, I was looking at money that could have been made if the server was more attentive. Most of thepeople at the table would have had at least another drink had the server bothered to check back as he should have. I had totrack him down twice to order desert. Almost gave up on that. (First time he said he?d be back in a minute, but never returned.)After he took our desert order, he left? didn?t bother to check with anyone else at the table. Under other circumstances, Iprobably would have said something to the manager. I?m sure the response would have been they are under staffed ? which isbecoming a go to excuse. If that?s the case, the prices should be lowered to reflect the value of the experience. There was anice crowd, but they didn?t appear to be slammed. I don?t know how many servers they had working. There was a gentleman in asuit giving directions to the servers and kitchen staff bringing out food - maybe an owner or manager. Great improvement over the former tenant of this space. Excellent food, atmosphere and for the sheer number of large parties due... to the holidays, the service was not bad. Visited again in July. Elevated outdoor seating overlooking Paint Creek is a plus.Live band on Thursday night. Still a great choice. Read more
I'm tossed on how many stars to give this restaurant. The food was okay - absolutely nothing to rave about. (3 stars) The... ambience wasn't anything special. (2 stars) And the prices were ridiculously high for a small local restaurant with mediocrefood and ambience. (1 star) But it is a small, local restaurant who I hope succeeds so I gave it 3 stars in the hopes theyimproves. But I'll never know, because I won't be going back. I would like to say our first time here today and it was exceptional! Our waiter Jessi was very attentive and knowledgeable... about food and wine. He did a great job. You need to find someone who is nice to your customers when entering the restaurant. The gal was so rude. It was so embarrassing... since the couple we were with was their first time dining there. Even they commented. The gal acted like we were bothering her.It was not even that busy yet. Thank God we had an excellent waiter and good food. But this is what I will remember and theother couple as well. . It is so important to be greeted appropriately. Read more
