Walked in to a nearly empty restaurant with the few tables taken by elderly. There was 4 of us but my partner and I came early... to get an appetizer while we waited because we were hungry, we were told it was company policy to not seat until our full partyarrived, which is understandable, in an actually busy restaurant. My partner and I both have years of experience in the foodindustry, but the fact they wouldn't even let us sit for a table of 2 even. Really??? Are you just not trying to make money as aserver or a business? It was not busy at all. Not under staffed. We were greeted by 4 people behind the counter. It made nosense at all. No leeway? My partner grew up going here for years and we drove 8 hours to have dinner here with her family. Bothof us were really disappointed by this interaction. Read more

Wife & I both had baked seafood plate, very tasty, needed salt. Sides were good, service was very good, prices reasonable.... Haven't been there in over a year & need to eat here more often. Read more

Excellent food with enormous portions. The decor is dated (Denny?s-esque) and super bright lighting is quite harsh, but the... staff was friendly. Read more

Wonderful baked haddock, light and flaky. The onion rings are made in house with a lite batter. The senior menu comes with a... meal, drink and dessert. Our waitress was so pleasant! She was happy and helpful with our questions. I'll be going back!!! Read more

No disappointments at all! Relaxed, homey atmosphere. Huge, varied menu. Prompt, very friendly service. Our dinners were... delicious. (Stuffed haddock with 2 sides) The place was clean, and everything smelled great. We will return. (90 min drive forus too) Read more

We had a party of 18 tonight and our reservations somewhere else got cancelled last minute. I called the Windjammer to see if... there was any way they could accommodate us, knowing full well it would be difficult and we likely wouldn?t get to sit togetheror eat at the same time. The staff and owner were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They were able to get us in at the timewe wanted (not even a half hour from the time I called), sat us in just two separate tables rather than the 4 or so I expected, and didn?t treat us at all like an annoyance like some places would have. Our server easily accommodated separate checks, refilled our drinks before we thought about asking, and was calm and helpful through the whole meal. The food was great and cameout fairly quickly and all together. Having to deal with a large party with very limited notice can be incredibly stressful, but the staff here made it work perfectly. 45 minute wait on a Saturday night which told me right off the bat that this place was still as good as I remember! The wait... certainly wasn't as long as they said it would be and for being so busy our food came out hot, quick and accurate. My mom and Ishared a small order of fried mushrooms with a delicious side of ranch followed by a "small" plate of shrimp with 2 sides (whichwas more than enough for a second meal) and a beautiful garden salad topped with chicken, feta and balsamic glaze for dinner. Prices for all mentioned were more than fair which I was surprised to find during these times! There are a lot of up and comingrestaurants in Rochester but don't forget the classics, your won't regret it! Read more

Nice restaurant with good food. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The local beer they have on tap was really... unexpected, similar to a blue moon, thicker and more robust. I finished my glass in 2 minutes. I wanted another glass?.. but Iwas driving ??. The food was good, my wife only complaint was the vegetables in her pasta was not fresh, they were frozen, thepasta and chicken was good. My fish and chips was fried golden brown and the fish was moist and flaky, I can eat this all day itwas so good. My daughter seafood broil was on the greasy side too much butter at the bottom, everything else was just cookedperfectly she said and the sea scallops melted in her mouth. We shared a lobster ???? roll and I forgot to take a picture, itwas good we liked it. We tagged this place on Google maps to revisit again when we are back in the area. Read more
