We were visiting from Toronto, which has a lot of great halal options, but this place has some of the best food I've tasted in a... while! I was unsure if the vege pide but my goodness! Incredibly flavorful comfort food! Everything else we tried was wonderfulas well. The staff was wonderful... Food came at a reasonable time (we're used to waiting as I feel most halal restaurantssuffer from time management issues) and we got some fresh bread on the house by the chef! The only complaint I have iscleanness if the washrooms! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! So good that I'm now googling recipes on how tomake iskendar kababs ???? Read more

Some the best food I've had in the area! We visited As Evi at 6pm on a Saturday and there was only one other table. By the time... we left, it was packed. A very pleasant and diverse group of patrons I might add. Very inviting and hospitable. Anyhow... thefood. The hummus was fresh and the bread they served it with was still warm and chewy and amazing. We tried 3 different types ofthe bread topped and/or stuffed with meat and veggies and each was really unique and tasty. These things were the equivalent ofpizza or a stromboli, but with Turkish and Mediterranean flavors. They have odd names, but do not be scared. The food feelsfamiliar and new at the same time. Additionally, we tried a mixed grill, which was essentially a sampler platter of 4 of theirproteins/kabobs (2 types of ground beef, chicken, and a lamb chop). Another great choice, as everything was flavorful andtasty. We also tried the Manti, which are little dumpling-esque bits of textural bliss, covered in a yogurt sauce with whattasted like caraway and maybe dill. This one almost stole the show. Such an exquisite mouthfeel. Lastly, we did dessert. And 3out of the 4 of us ordered something. Baklava was rich and delectable. We tried Kadaif as well, which was good, but both of thempaled in comparison to the Kunefe. This was one of the most unique, rich and delicious things I've ever tried. Sufficed it tosay, I'll be coming back to try even more. Read more

Nice family owned restaurant, but food is a bit slow to come out if there?s a group ahead of you. Unfortunately we had to wait... approx 45 min for our food, and weren?t offered some sort of compensation (discount, or dessert). Tried the kofta sandwich andit was very plain. Just the meat, lettuce, tomato, in a bun. I was expecting a sauce or hummus or something. The meat tastedgood, but all the bread/lettuce/tomato took away from it. Others ordered plates and said it was delicious. Maybe next timeI?ll try a plate instead. Read more

Very traditional Turkish cuisine. Price is on the higher end and the foods are definitely quite overpriced. If you don?t mind... the money then this is definitely a place to try out. Read more

One of the best Turkish food we tried so far in New York area. Will definitely going back again. A lot of things were not... available because of the Ramadan so had to go for some other options but still it was such a great experience. It was a kind ofhybrid restaurant where if you want any drinks you walk to the counter and get one and some time they bring it too if you gotlucky ???? Jokes apart food was highly fresh and taste. Usually we feel heavy ness after eating too much but with them not atall. Service was relatively quicker than other similar restaurants and much politer, I heard they had great tea but could tasteit because of Ramadan. Will definitely going back and recommendation is Adan chicken combination of beef kabob with rice lemon, onion, lettuce and some bread. So can?t beat that. Have fun ???? Read more

Went there to try their iskander kabob, but that wasn't available on that particular day. So, that was a bummer. We had a... sandwitch and a mixed kabob platter. The food was good, but the price is bit too high. Read more
