Food was a big disappointment. Had called and ordered Food. Arrived a hour later Food still not ready also lost phone order.... After waiting over 20 minutes. The Food was terrible. Went to the location on Mt Hope. First time at Country Sweets. I've been looking for gizzards and was told by a friend to try... here. The gizzards were excellent. Plenty of gizzard with just the right amount of breading. I got the collard greens and Mac &cheese. Greens were simple and delicious. The size of the sides were bigger than most other places. I've eaten here about twice a week for the past 6 months, which adds up to at least $500 that I've spent here. So I can give a... reasonable report on the food and service. First, the food is pretty good for the price. I don't just eat it because I'm hungry,but because I want to eat something that tastes good and is satisfying. Second, the service is pretty good compared to otherestablishments in the area. There is a typical wait time if ordering in person; however, there is never a wait if I order on thephone 15-20 minutes before getting there. There is also occasionally a circumstance where they have run out of chicken. This hasonly happened twice for me, which was an opportunity to try their pork ribs (which are excellent but also somewhat expensive).Third, the people working there have respect for the customers if the customers are respectful of them. Some people areintolerant of even the slightest errors and then their empathy goes out the window. I've seen it a couple times, and the firsttime that there wasn't chicken I was a little irritated myself. But I understand their system now so I will not feel thatway. Summary: the food itself is great and consistently so for the price, but frankly, for any price. The service is good ifyou understand how their system works and you know what you want and have patience. Just like anywhere, respect the employeesand they'll give you respect, especially in the occasion that something is not as expected. I recommend the 3-piece breast andwing (barbecue or hot sauce) dinner with the French fries and mac and cheese. Or you could try the pork ribs which are reallygood. Read more
There's always this one lady there when I go. Today her hair was blue. She's great the best attitude and personality and stays... ontop of the orders like a boss. People like her make the experience great. 51 for 3 meals (shrimp and fish.. fish and tendersmeals with 3 corn bread) not bad Read more
So I always visit this place every time I come back to Rochester. The chicken and country sweet sauce is always top tier. My... only problem is that 1 they turned the fryers off way before closing thus couldn’t make my fried shrimp to order. Then whenthey ran out of mild sauce (although though they sell jars of the sauce) they were going to make me purchase a bottle if Ididn’t opt to get hot or bbq. However after a brief discussion they ended up using their mild sauce from the bottle free ofcharge. Then they took like 3 more orders after mine and ran out of chicken! I felt bad for the other customers who werewaiting. Note they were not taking food orders over the phone at this time. Although chaotic, my chicken as always was madeto perfection. Sadly tho, my fries and sweet potato fries were not up to par. I will always come back despite it all… lol! Read more
1st time there in 18+yrs and the food was fabulous. Chicken fried hard but juicy inside,just the way i like it. Sauce was... tasty. Mac salad on point. A hidden gem must go too. You want be disappointed. Read more

I love Country Sweet! I have been enjoying their delicious wings since the 80s. Their chicken dishes are tangy, sweet (of... course), and make my mouth happy. There is something about the texture of the wings that make them more pleasing to chew thanany others around. They have some kind of magic breading or coating or something that I can't specifically identify. And I don'twant it to be identified. Because magic should remain a mystery. Especially when it's this delicious. I recommend the WingDinner or the Half Chicken Dinner (I like the Mild sauce), either of which will be served with two sides. The macaroni salad ismy number one recommendation. Staff is always friendly but plan to wait a while for your food. I don't know why it takes so longto get an order together but it doesn't matter. It's worth the wait! The dining room is a bit austere - diner-style booths butit's not a place you go to for the ambiance. Make your mouth happy and go! Read more
