I've been relying on them during this past year for take out. Always well prepared and well packed. I always used to eat in... till take out became necessary... They maintained their high standards and integrity. Even in take out...the salad is carefullycrafted! The Chicken French with the asparagus spears and Jasmin rice is also Nicely placed together. Nice atmosphere. A little crammed in though. Bumping into other customers as your sitting there eating. My thoughts on the staff... and bar tender are as such. The server. Was amazing very attentive at the right times. And the lady whom i believe to be one ofthe owners was polite and kind. The bar tender was very good. The drink i got though sadly was a bit off. The olive juice in themartinis was old and tasted off. The food... The appetizer was a perfect combination of smokey and cheesey and the balsamicglaze was a nice finish touch to amplify the notes of the mozzarella and prosciutto. Was thoroughly impressed wirh the dishbeing a chef myself. This set my sights too high I believe as the main dish was sadly sub par to anything ive ever had. As seenfrom the pics the presentation was sloppy like really sloppy, not even bordering on the thoughts or look of rustic. I orderedthe duck. Now i will give them credit for the portion size, although it was cold and the "gravy" which i assumed to be anattempt on a demi glaze reduction, was not good at all. The sauce had a skin on it and tasted terrible. Sadly took away from theduck all together and ruined the dish atop the already sad presentation. The vegtables were nice. My friend's dish was actuallyvery tasty. Chicken Alexander I believe. But then again from the pics you can see the sad sloppy set up as if it was from abuffet. Now being a chef my veiws and taste are different as such. But when im charged 25 dollars for a dish it could be donewith a little more finesse. Like i said atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. All was wonderful from the reservation on phone ... greeted at the door. Waiter and bus staff very nice friendly and courteous... ... restaurant is well decorated with a nice warm feel. Menu is exceptional with many traditional items prepared in other ways. I can't wait to visit again. Read more
My first time. Our reserved table was not available because the previous guests arrived really late = not ready for us (why... didn't they decline the previous guests, is beyond me). The service was extremely slow and the place was very noisy, even thoughthe place looked 1/2 full. Nobody was tending the bar. The entree tasted ok but couldn't tell what it was, because the room wasvery dark. The pilaf tasted not fully cooked, but who knows, maybe it was some nuts in there. The only reason I give this placethe two stars is because the server lady was very nice, and the wine was good. Hard pressed to go back, again. Maybe there weresome issues this particular day... It would have been nice to know why, and if so, possibly a free glass of wine or dessert..... Read more
