This space wasn't overcrowded. The waitress was quick and patient. I don't usually like hibachi lo mein but it was phenomenal... here. It's slightly cheaper than kobe's up the road. Only downside (and it's not really a downside) is that all of the coolhibachi stuff happens in the kitchen and we don't get to see. It's hardly a deal breaker Read more

Been a few years since I've eaten there. I have always loved eaten there. I'll start with the vegetables. Love my vegetables, I... only got a few pieces of veggies, it was mainly Lo Mien noodles. I hate and never asked for Lo Mien noodles. Did ask for extraginger dressing for my salad, didn't get it, with how small my salad was, probably didn't need it. Soup tasted more like fishbroth instead of chicken. Yum Yum sauce wasn't anything like it should taste. Tasted more like a stroganoff. Threw my filetmignon away after a few bites. Read more

Decent sushi for a decent price - generous amount of fish per serving. Rolls could have been executed better (tended to come... apart), but that can probably vary by batch of rice and humidity and the nori used so I give it a pass. Read more

Outstanding must try. Love the hibachi, Philadelphia roll, and of the fried ice cream.

I hear the sushi is good, but I don't like sushi, so I had chicken hibachi for lunch. It was only ok. The soup that came with it... was not good in my opinion and tasted like fish, but fish was not listed in the description. The meal wasn't "bad", but I willnot go out of my way to go back. Read more

Would not be my first choice. Despite coming up as a hibachi restaurant don't expect to get a show. All food even the hibachi is... made in the back. That wouldn't have been a problem except the onions were raw and the calamari we ordered was more Italianrestaurant than Japanese restaurant. The food wasn't horrible but not worth the price in my opinion. Read more

I've been going to Sumo for lunch and dinners for a few years now. This is this is my favorite sushi place! They have unmatched... hospitality. The sushi isn't the greatest in the world but it is the most consistent I've had and way above the normal standard.Every roll I've tried is great and the specialty rolls are even better. Highly recommend Sumo for any occasion. The staff isvery polite and I've never had an issue with phone orders or in-person dining over the past 5 years I've visited. The food comesout in a timely fashion and the price is just right. Amazing place for sushi and the occasion hibachi dish! Read more

After traveling to Japan two years ago, my husband and I struggled to find a place in Rochester that served sushi we could... appreciate. SUMO is by far the best sushi we have had in the area. They offer creative rolls, but also have high quality sashimithat is served at the right temperature! Not on ice! Highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
