update- We heard that Friday nights were busy at The Original Charbroil House, so we came in early. We were seated immediately,... and had our orders taken right away. My wife and I always talk about the friendly, family atmosphere, and we are neverdisappointed. From the owners to the wait staff, you make us feel at home. We started coming about 6 months ago after arecommendation from friends. Now we go past 100's of other restaurants to get the The Charbroil House. Great folks, greatatmosphere, and great food. I didn't enjoy the pork loin dinner at all. The sauce was too spicy for me. I was given another portion but it was overcooked.... The mash potatoes were dry as well. However, I did enjoy a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. It was full of clams and potatoes.I also enjoyed the onion rings. Read more

Good quality food, not great, but about what I expect from a burger/diner place. Service is fine, menu is fine, everything is... good but nothing stands out as being great or bad. My breakfast omelette was good. Prices are a little high for what you get. Read more

Where else do where go for the best home cooked food and hospitality? Here at the Original Char Broil! We've been coming for... years since our Mom Dede loved coming here. Visiting Rochester, my first stop is at original Charbroil restaurant at island cottage rd. The food is amazing, best... hamburgers, Texas hotdogs, onion rings. Service is top notch. Still making their own hamburger meat. I had double sausageburger, double hamburger and two Texas hots. Plus chicken sandwich. Trying to get my fill. I use to work here 30 plus yearsago. Great place to have dinner with your family. I have 4 more days to enjoy eating there before I fly back. Read more

We went for dinner and got the ribs with pulled pork, baked potato, and mac n cheese. We also ordered the southern fried... chicken, steamed vegetables, chili and a seafood bisque. We got some meat hot sauce for our baked potatoes and it was very goodand one of the best hot sauces we had. The margaritas and other cocktails were good too. Our waitress Katrina was a very lovelyperson and gave us excellent service. We can tell Katrina cares about her regular costumers and the restaurant as a whole.
