Place was packed but no one was talking or looked happy. Not greeted by the waitress (older woman with glasses). We were there... between 8:00-10:00am. Waited for over 15 minutes to order. We were skipped over being serviced with another group that cameafter us. Flagged down the older waitress with glasses and told her "we are ready". She responded sarcastically " ready forwhat?" Took OVER AN HOUR from ordering to getting food on the table. Generous food portions for the price. No staff seemedhappy to serve their patrons, let alone having their business being busy ( no other town from Tillamook to Rockaway hasbreakfast earlier than 9am open). Service was terrible: EXTREMELY SLOW and NOT at all FRIENDLY. No wonder they call it Grumpys. Read more
Okay food, generous servicing, great staff. Been coming here for 12 years, so it's a Rockaway icon for us. Food is reasonably... priced, and you get a lot for your money. We ordered the 1 and 7 today (pancakes egg thicc bacon, biscuit hash eggs bacon). Read more
15 years ago this place was amazing..but like everything else in poor little rockaway things are not the same. Food was... decent, hard to screw up scrambled eggs and a waffle service was nonexistent I got 1 cup of Luke warm coffee..never got arefill I could see if it was busy but there were 3 other tables with people other than myself Prices are very reasonable. Ifall you want is some food and then getting out on the beach...no frills then this isn't a bad stop. Read more
Ate there in summer of 2021 during a roadtrip. Food was great and the cook did this for my daughters breakfast. We didn't ask... for it but we still laugh about it. I went back and gave the cook a tip and said thank you. Read more
This is a lovely dinner with charming staff and carefully prepared cuisine. I liked it so much i bought a hat. There are also 2... round tables with a cool black and white psychedelic pattern on them. Seemed equipped to handle children and their diningrequirements as well. Eat here. Read more
This is the worst place I have eaten in a long time. So disappointing. People inside said the food is so good here and the lady... working was super nice so when we opened our food we were quite disgusted. We ordered the meatloaf and the top sirloin whichwere the specials of the night. The sirloin was ordered medium rare and it came more than well done. My meatloaf looked likeCanned dog food. Also ordered the crispy chicken salad that had literal rotten eggs on it. My vegetables were literally stillfrozen With ice on them still. Paid $70 with tip not happy!! Read more
Having breakfast at Grumpy's Cafe this morning in Rockaway Beach was an amazing experience!! The staff was so inviting and the... service was second to none. My wife had the Guppy #1. 1 egg, 2 silver dollar pancakes, with a choice side of ham. I orderedthe Breakfast sandwich on a croissant, with bacon. Both meals were superb!! The price was lower than I had expected. Idefinitely would suggest visiting Grumpy's Cafe on your next visit to Rockaway Beach, it is we'll your your time!!! Read more
THIS PLACE WILL TURN YOU FROM GRUMPY TO HAPPY! Wowza, everything about this place is fantastic. The food is incredibly cooked,... and very reasonably priced for the portions they give you! Come with an appetite! I had a #1 (the picture with the hand forcomparison) and my wife had the #2. They do have gluten free options, and wheelchair access!
