The food was subpar and not worth the $$. First, we ordered to go and were put off by the tone in their menu at first. No... substitutions. Maybe no orders to go. Only 1 check per party. 20% gratuity to parties over 5. However, there were not manyoptions in Rockaway we decided to order anyway. When we arrived the “tone” of the establishment was just as off putting astheir menu. See pics. Do you want customers to patronage your restaurant or are you wanting to just expecting people to dothings your way? The Brie burger contained little to no Brie (I couldn’t find it) and the burger patty was very dry. The clamchowder was thin and very bland. Chocolate torte was rich and chewy. Wow! That view is incredible! Dinner here was pretty good too. Was expecting it to be a bit more high end, but the food was... good! Good fish options - my wife had the rock fish tacos, and I had the albacore tuna fish and chips. I also had an oldfashioned, which was a little watery. Truly cannot beat the view. If you're looking for a good place to stop for tacos and abeer after your swim, this may be the place for you! Read more

I cannot express exactly how great this place is cause no words really express. We had the most amazing dinner here ever.... Everything our table got was exquisite and the server was so incredible. We asked to speak with her manager and got to tell themhow much we appreciated the awesome experience here. They even stayed open late for us til we could finish our meals. Fantastic views of the coast when sitting on the outdoor patio. We were seated and waited on quickly. Our waiter was especially... prompt, precise, and very nice. We both tried the fish and chips (tuna and rock fish), and were very tasty! Great spot to stop. Read more

The staff, Jose, was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Jose had a smile on his face and willing to answer all our questions.... The garlic feta fries were very good, but if you don't enjoy salt it could be a bit much. The cod fish was tasty and juicy, butthe fries were a little bland after the garlic feta fries. The chicken paprishka was a good stew. The chicken BLT with bacondipped in egg batter, which was tasty. The limited white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was good. The salted caramel cookie wasalready prepackaged and was decent. I prefer more of a salty caramel. The banana cake swirl was like a bread with chocolateswirl. Read more

We have visited Sand Dollar Restaurant numerous times and loved it. The prices are always a little high but we are all about... supporting local small businesses. We decided to stop and pick up a to go order on the way home from the beach today and we arenow regretting it. We ordered 2 classic cheese burgers with fries and an order of calamari for a total of $44.00. We got back toour beach house and opened the box with the calamari only to find out that 1/4 of our order is actually breaded banana peppers!Not okay when you pay $14 for it...then we opened our burgers to find dry burgers with little to no dressing and a small orderof cold fries. It was a cold and windy day when we visited so we chose this restaurant because it had an ocean view and was indoors! The prices... were a little high but the view was amazing. We ordered fish and chips, crab deviled eggs (a special that day), calamari, friedoysters and chips, and kids pb&j. The breading was a little greasy, but had good flavor. The calamari came with fried peppocinipeppers in it which was ok but there were more peppers than calamari. The crab deviled eggs were the best part of the meal!! Read more

The seafood platter was not good but they did comp us. I made it up with a 40 dollar tip. The drinks where amazing azwell. ... Definitely a place I will visit in the near future. That's the captains platter with oysters, clams ,calamari, shrimp , Baby shrimp a bowl of chowder for26$ bucks ! Maybe redesign your seafood platter. And the chowder was great here.
