You have to try the vanilla creme ale! It's one of the best beers I have ever had!

Good place, but not one I'd necessarily return to on purpose. Had a fine time here. It was rather loud at dinner time and the... atmosphere is dark brown wood. If the place is full, you will not be using your inside voice. However, after a beer or four,you probably won't notice or care. We ordered the cheese and sausage platter, a Carlyle brat and meatball sandwich. I don'tthink there is a grill here as nothing had char lines on it, although the brat was tasty. Almost had a hot dog like qualitywithout the thick skin (which is how i prefer it). The meatballs looked like they probably came from a bag, but they were alsogood. I felt it just fell short of a four star rating, but depending on the time you go and if you are just in for beers vsfood, I would recommend it differently. Great beer selection here and we got one of each in 5 oz glasses. Many great tastingbeers at $1.75 per glass. A fun way to taste everything they have to offer at the time, as the beer menu changes with what theyhave on tap. Read more
I grew up in Rockford, but live in Tampa. Anytime I'm in town I have to stop in Carlyle. The beers and atmosphere are fantastic,... and we always have great service. Read more
A short swing by as out-of-towner following local business partners recommendation. Great choice of beers, great beer and a... place to relax and or spend time with friends. Had a glass of Vanilla Cream Ale. Deep and thorough aroma, rich taste. Love it,and with very affordable price. Glad checked this one out. Read more
This is one of the few places I drink beer at and go out of my way for if there's time. Carlyle is great for beer AND root beer.... Unfortunately, they haven't opened their kitchen because the pizza was great. You can bring your own food and Capri was theother place to bring food from but sadly had a fire. It can be loud on Friday nights but what place isn't with greatbeer? Recommend Carlyle paired with Magpie food. Read more
