The service alone was incredible. The food was amazing. Thank you Beatriz for exceptional service. You went above and beyond.... We ordered the mushrooms as an appetizer....I didn't wan't to share. Very impressed for a chain restaurant. Quality of food was above expectations and service was impeccable. My wife and I had the... Sydney Shrooms as an appetizer. Fried to perfection and succulent when I bit into them. I ordered the lunch menu coconut shrimp.The shrimp were big and delicious, especially with the provided sauce. My wife had the soup and salad special for lunch. Sheenjoyed the house salad along with the two soups she had: French onion and potato. I tried both soups and I recommend the potatosoup. This review is a long time coming. So many things have happened over the years that we finally decided to never go back. Years... ago, there was a piece of lettuce in my dessert, the waiter picked it out with his bare hand and said it was all fixed. I was inshock and did not eat it. Then they had new management and things were great for a while. Then more than once, the bloomingonion would be burnt and inedible. A visit sometime after that, my salad was frozen. The manager made such a big deal out ofit, such as, 'we threw away all of our salads. We take pride in our salads. We checked the temperature of the fridge...' All Iwanted as a correction was to pick out a soup and move on. Last night, was the last straw. Our waitress was very attentive atthe beginning. But strange things kept happening. While giving our order, she stops us, she runs to the kitchen to put in ourappetizer order. I thought that was kind of nice but I had more to order. Then, we didn't have silverware. It happens. Myhusband was looking for a station with silverware because no one was walking by our table. I was laughing at his jokes. Then wewere able to ask for silverware. I received a refill of my soda, my husband was never asked if he wanted a second specialtydrink. Shortly after, we received our check! We were no where ready to leave. My husband wanted a drink and I wanted to orderdessert. After requesting silverware, our waitress stopped checking on us. Then I realized, she just wanted to rush us out thewhole time. We got Outback on Sunday. We got 2 bone in Ribeyes, one was thin and the other was thick. Mine was over cooked not med rare. It... had a large amount of fat on it. My potato soup was so salty. My husband ordered mash potatos for 1 side and never got it. Wehad 2 house salads. There was a big I mean big difference in size. We normally have good experience with them. I got the Toowoomba Salmon. The menu recommends the rice and vegetables to go with it, and while the server asked if I wanted... something different, I just went with that. Everything was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were not mushy but not toocrunchy/raw either. The salmon was good throughout, cooked but not dried out. The sauce had tons of shrimp and mushrooms and agood level of heat, spicy but not distracting from the flavor. My only comment is that there was a bit too much sauce for therice -- it was kind of drowning in it. Some people might actually prefer it that way. The bread was fresh and tasty as well. Toomuch ice in my strawberry lemonade, making it watered down after a bit, but it was otherwise delicious.
