Don't hesitate, this is the place to go. My wife and I discovered this restaurant last week as we have moved to the area. We met... Mr. Jimmy Vitale the owner and proprietor. We also sat at the bar and ate and had Aubrey as the bartender. They both welcomed usand treated us over the top. Well, we went back today. We were treated over the top again and were recognized when we entered.My wife ordered the duck, and I ordered a 22 oz New York strip. I asked the owner if I could get a wet peppercorn sauce. He saidI have something even better and he personally went to the back to make my glaze with a cognac. Can't give it all away, but WOW!My wife and I live about 35 miles from this establishment. This is our new home restaurant and bar. Great service, greatownership and unbelievable food. Do not even think about going somewhere else. My family and I enjoy coming here for dinner and it?s always our first choice when stopping in Rockford. We have noticed the... owner making rounds and checking on everyone?s table but this last time was something special as we really got to know Jimmy abit more and his love for the restaurant. He really made us feel significant as he showed us around and even gave us a drink onthe house. As always the food and service was exceptional but because Jimmy went out of his way to talk to us, it really madeour night. Visited while in town for a meeting, staff is absolutely welcoming, the steak and dining experience was amazing. There are steak... houses in Chicago that don't give you this experience and ambiance. My boss asked for a Horseradish crust, which is not on themenu, and they still accommodated. Will be stopping by again whenever in the area. Read more
My husband and I just had dinner here for the first time. They have a lovely patio, the food was excellent, drinks were great.... And the service was phenomenal! A little pricey, but definitely worth it and so much better than any of the similarly pricedchain restaurants in the area. Read more
I had a lovely time at Stone Eagle on a Wednesday evening. There was live music out on the beautiful patio. My meal was... fantastic! I had the Minestrone Soup, Hawaiian Grilled Salmon, and Brussels Sprouts. The salmon was juicy and delicious. Thepiña colada was to die for! All the food here is exquisite. I?ve had the filet as well which was exceptional, cooked toperfection and super tender. The owner Mr. Vitale is very personable and goes out of his way to make all his guests feel welcomeand comfortable. Highly recommend this place!! Read more
The atmosphere can't be beat. I used to live in Rockford and would come here quite regularly. I'm in town for business and I... stopped by again. Jambalaya was lovely as was the shrimp scoop. The waitress was new but was very kind and attentive. My onlycomplaint is that I wish there was a larger selection of cocktails. My waitress said the bar could make anything so I ordered aMai tai. That wasn't what I would call a mai tai, and I'm a fan of the tiki drink lifestyle so I know my way around a mai tai.It was pleasant though and tasted fine, whatever it was. We came on a Saturday night when the special was prime rib, bacon wrapped shrimp, onion ring and soup or salad for $19.95. ... OMG!! Everything was incredible! The service, the food, the hospitality!
