The Norwegian was one of the best places I had one a road trip through the area. I'd definitely consider it a hidden gem, as... most of Rockford doesn't seem that interesting. Such a fun, upbeat, fresh place. Staff was friendly and attentive. Several people stopped by with food or to clear plates, all... were warm, with a quick question or comment on the food. The prices are really reasonable, and that served us well as wecouldn't decide and ordered one of everything on their weekly menu. Plenty was taken home, but the food was also not super heavyso it left you feeling comfortable to.walk around rather than rolling out tou your car to struggle home. This was my first stop into town and I?m so glad I sampled a few of their vegan options because they were wholesome and just... what I needed to satiate my overwhelming hunger. I adored the ambiance and natural lighting, their fireplace was so inviting.The staff was very kind and considerate. I loved all the items I sampled, especially the tofu breakfast sandwich! I love the uniqueness and quality of this place. I am always looking forward to what the next menu will contain. It is very... clean and cute inside and very comfortable. The ever changing menu is great! Always looking forward to what the theme is for the week. Pictures are from a citrus inspired... menu. Lentil soup, chick pea curry, rum based cocktail with a citrus twist and rock candy, and a blood orange meringuepie. The previous time consisted of Arepas, and an herbal cocktail with elderflower liqueur. Have never been disappointed andhighly recommend checking this place out! Read more
Excellent quality, fresh ingredients. Clearly a lot of attention to detail. The price reflects that. That said, I can't think of... another local Scandinavian restaurant targeting this price point. I'd definitely recommend this for a special occasion brunchplace. Read more
