Amazing experience. The female bartender took us even though they were closing in 5 minutes. She made THE BEST old fashioned... I've had in Illinois besides blaum in Galena. Such great times and service Read more

Best thing we ate was flat bread burgers were not gourmet and food wait time was horrible for only six people in the entire... place. Don't know what they would do if they got busy which I know now why they weren't.Felt bad for the waitress she wasapologizing to the six people in there about food not being ready. We were there for over an hour to get two burgers and a flatbread. Read more

The other night we stopped in this place for a drink before dinner. What a disaster. We walked in and were met with a disgusting... smell of stale food and bleach. It smelled like The morning after at a college bar. There was a concert going on later thatevening at the Coronado so it was a little busy, but there were three or four empty tables. It said to seat your self so wefound a dirty table and sat there. There were two servers walking around, and neither one of them made eye contact with us.After 20 minutes, we went up to the bar and ordered our own drinks. I ended up getting a lemon drop, which wasn?t bad, althoughI would have felt safer getting a bottled drink. At one point we greeted one of the servers ourselves and asked how she wasdoing. She didn?t look well. Like, seriously something was wrong. The other one looked more chipper, but continued to avoid ourgaze. We finally dumped all the dirty stuff from our table onto another dirty table. The sick server continued to float aroundcleaning up tables but never approached us. As we were leaving I walked by the chipper server and said ? it?s OK that youignored us?. They tried to make some excuse but I didn?t hear what they said. This place is absolutely disgusting. Go anywhereelse on state street except here. . Read more

This used to be a go-to place for us but no longer. They were out of everything we wanted. No tuna, no mushrooms, no salmon, no... soup, no was pretty consistent. Plus they didn't have what they needed to make the martini's we ordered on the night theyadvertise as martini specials for $5. You'd think they would be better prepared. Totally disappointed. Extremely warmly welcomed and service was great! Nice blonde woman I am so sorry I don't know your name. Great first experience... and impression! We went on a Tuesday and she was the only server we saw but was very attentive. Beer was cold , good and lots ofdraft options. I had a grinder, unfortunately the onions had an old oil/butter taste that ruined the whole thing. My dinnercompanion really liked her mushroom burger. I'd give it another chance. Read more

While on vacation we passed thru & stayed overnight in Rockford, IL. Desiring a popular local spot to eat, we came across... Vintage @ 501. It is located in the historic downtown area directly across from the stylish, art deco City Hall. I'm not surewhat vintage means to you, but if it's a slightly worn & dark sports bar w large ad signs of a bygone era, or paper menus thatare now wrinkled w repeated use, or at my table the little extra effort needed to pry my phone from the sticky surface, thisplace might tick off the boxes. But Vintage @ 501 is known for their food and the menu has a lot to choose from. We wereexcited to find the Beef Brisket Plate, and then to split it. We made an outstanding choice! The large helping of mashedpotatoes, butter glazed beans & brisket shared between the two of us made for a filling and pleasing meal for both. I thoughtthe slow roasted brisket was especially tender and tasty especially with the Cabernet reduction gravy covering it. My wifeenjoyed her meal, but noticed the absence of carrots as described on the menu and thought the green beans could be helped byadding salt. By the end of our meal, "vintage" had taken on a new meaning: delicious home-cooked, comfort food w the one youlove ?? the most! Read more

Great food and delicious cocktails served by an attentive and very knowledgeable bartender and staff. The martinis are simply... yummy and my bourbon old fashion was spot on. Went back again when we were in the area and had a Purple People Eater martiniand a Lemon Drop one as well. They were both spectacular. Love this place. Read more

Great waitress! Too dark atmosphere, kind of creepy. But the cheddar soup was amazing, the burgers were small (too much bread)... but the patty was exceptionally cooked! The fries were over cooked nothing special about them! Nothing special about the baconappetizer. The Mac and Cheese is average. They claim to have the best rueben sandwich in Rockford. Looking forward to try it! Read more
