First time here was great, second time here (8p on a Wednesday) was not. So shocked to have such a different experience. -Cream... rotten, couldn?t drink the coffee, got a new cup but same problem, never got it fixed cause no one gave refills or checkedback. -Male server vanished, I think female server took over? No one told us anything but we stopped being served. She droppedoff our food (with attitude when I pointed out my daughter?s was wrong) then never came back. -Egg scramble lukewarm which is sogross, I prefer hot food please! -When I asked the female server to remove 1 coffee from my bill she didn?t ask why, didn?t askhow our meal was, didn?t ask anything. Couldn?t care less. Paid $60 for our mediocre meal and apathetic ?service.? Regretcoming here. Read more
Not sure if this is the original with Alice, Flo, etc but most likely NO! A bit overrated. Food was decent. Could use a few more... breakfast options other than potatoes. Read more
We usually don't have any issues with Mel's, but today we all kinds of problems. The meat in my patty melt was undercooked, like... raw and cold. The same for my daughter's cheeseburger. The chesseburger had what looked like an entire wedge of lettuce on it.While my granddaughter's fries were over-seasoned, ours were very under-seasoned and barely warm. The restaurant was not crowdedso it's not like the kitchen was behind. The staff was great. Seated promptly, drinks delivered relatively quickly, and orderstaken within a few minutes of being seated. The food was good. The service was very good. All the workers seemed to be working hard and working fast. There is a jukebox and... every table and you can pay to have your favorite songs played throughout the restaurant. But the music was a little too quiet.Also kids food comes in a cardboard old time car. Read more
**This is a change to my original review** The last 4 times my family and I have came here, we got sick. My daughter wanted to... go to Mel's for her birthday because of the car her food comes in. I ordered a blta sandwich and salad. The bacon on my sandwichwas raw. Same with the bacon on my family's burger. The fries were cold and hard. If you enjoy 50s diner vibes then this is the place for you. The breakfast dishes are very good and always come out... quickly. The salads have always had good lettuce and I've never been disappointed. The dishes are fairly large portions, andthe kids food is properly sized. Read more
My salad was surprisingly good! Everyone else said their meals (burgers for the kids, and turkey platter for the husband) was... okay (the girls like their food, actually), but it was a little pricier than we'd say was worth it. Read more
